“Excellent location for Narita Airport, but getting rundown”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

I have stayed at this hotel about 10 times now, mostly when it was a Holiday Inn. Since leaving / losing the Holiday Inn franchise it is noticeably quieter and does show signs of being rundown. However, it is the closest hotel to the Airport, virtually at the security gate for Terminal 2 so remains a good choice for an overnight stay if that fits your schedules.

Positives
- Location: Less than five minutes (including security clearance) from Hotel to Terminal 2.
- Free shuttle buses to Narita Town, Narita Station and Terminals One and Two
- Reasonable prices
- Large rooms: the deluxe doubles will easily sleep a family of four for one or two nights.
- Accomodating staff
- Swimming pool, gym and sauna, albeit chargeable (Adult Y1000)
- Nice view of the airport for plane spotters

Negatives
- Getting very rundown - bedrooms desperately need refurbishing
- Torn wallpaper
- Stained carpets
- No in room WiFi
- Poor insulation and glazing -> road noise from nearby highway

All in all, OK for an overnight.

Recommendable hotel, clean, nice rooms - all you need for a night close to the airport. However, the first shuttle leaves at 6:30 am. For early departures from terminal 1 this is too late. You might need a (expensive) taxi.

This was a cheap hotel and it showed

All the low cost low pay airlines put the staff there

All down for breakfast in various uniforms

Grubby outdated poor staff not staying again

Breakfast was just about ok but had a problem with it

Stayed here for one night, coming from a late flight from Osaka.

My guess is that this place is really intended for transients waiting for connecting flights rather than long stay guests. The biggest plus is that it's located very close to the airport and they have a reliable free shuttle to both domestic and international terminals. Service was good, and the staff very polite.

The rooms are large and clean, but the facilities are really showing their age. Beds were quite lumpy.

Note: these aren't complaints, just reporting these facts for the record.

Its a good thing we got this hotel room really cheap through an early booking promotion on A... .com (name omitted lest I be accused of promoting a booking website) otherwise, it wouldn't be worth the very expensive regular price.

Overall, good enough for a few hour's sleep and a shower, but it didn't feel luxurious at all. The overall impression is that it's some faded and tired semblance of it's former glory. I didn't even bother to take as many pictures as I"d usually do.

We needed to stop over for a connection flight. It has a decent shuttle service to airport. Staff were not all that helpful. A cheap hotel full of airline staff. No WiFi in rooms. In lobby only (I had to stand in lobby after being chased from a table in adjoining lounge/bar even though no guests in room. The few seats in the lobby were occupied by airline crew. The outside looks grander than the cheap interiors.

Room Tip: Don't stay

I booked this hotel based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. The Hotel is very convenient to the airport but that's about the only positive thing I could say about it. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room. To our (wife & 5 year old son), we were taken to a room (well, the entire floor) that just reeked of cigarette smoke. When we mentioned this to the bellhop, he said "Open Window, no more smell" Seriously? I immediately called the front desk to request a new room, the man who answered said that it was my fault and that I had booked a smoking room. I then told the bellhop to not unload our luggage from the cart and I went down to the front desk. There were 2 men and 1 woman working there. The 2 men (one of which had blamed me for the mix up) were dealing with other guests, I spoke to the lady at the desk and she quickly pulled up my reservation. I explained to her that I had requested a non-smoking room and was put in the smoking room. The look on her face pretty much answered everything, she turned pale and immediately got us a new room in a totally different wing of the hotel. On our way to the room, the bellhop even said "Wow, you got upgraded to the new wing and higher floor". I just replied, "Not upgraded, just given the correct reservation."

If you want a quick bite then the hotel's restaurant is your only option. Very pricey for what they serve. I would recommend that you go into town (use the free shuttle), or even back to the airport for a decent meal.

The Bell Captain was very helpful in how we were to make our way to Tokyo Station using the Narita Express.

Room Tip: Not a place I would return to ever again.

We had 2 nights at this hotel while in transit from NZ to UK. We arrived in evening after long flight and the free hotel shuttle bus was easy to find.

Check in easy and food in the restaurant OK.

There were three of us and we had booked a triple room which had three very large single beds (could be double) in it.

The next day we used a shuttle bus to go to airport to get train into Tokyo (takes about a hour). Another good nights sleep and then a long flight to London.
