“Relaxing”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Trails are not marked in English, but the signs with maps allow you to figure out where to go. Pools, temples and shrines around every corner, and lovely shade provide a nice place to relax on a lay-over day near the Tokyo airport.

“Narita park or the gate to heaven”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

The park and the temple are amazing, but you need a lot of energy to see everything. If you're interested in biology,in the park you can find more then 100 types of trees and plants. From a historic point of view, the temple is like an incursion throw time, you can discover&learn a lot about the Japanese culture.

“A beautiful way to finish our trio to Japan”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

With a few hours spare before our flight from Narita airport we made the most of our time by visiting these beautiful gardens and temples. There is a cheap shuttle from the airport to Aeon shopping mall (200 Yen) from there you can get a taxi to the park for about 1000yen. Very peaceful, very authentic and definitely well worth the visit.

“A relaxing look at Japan a stone`s throw from the airport”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

This park is a complex of Buddhist temples and other buildings set in a landscaped garden. The site is one of the most important in Japan, certainly east of Nagoya, and is often very busy during celebratory events, like New Years. However most of the year it is relatively quiet and given its size one can have a great stroll around while taking in the atmosphere. It has noted areas of ume blossom and cherry blossom which are rather beautiful. Nice for photo ops too with the combination of the garden, ancient statutory, and traditional architecture. It is free, and set within Narita town which is a fairly nice small town supporting the temple complex. Highly recommended either on the way into or out of Japan via Narita.

“A very nice garden and temple area”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

I stopped here during a layover at Narita Airport. It is well worth it if you have a few hours to spare. You get at least aa taste of authentic Japan. The views from the top are very good.
