Mercure Hotel Narita

In the the chaos that followed the recent typhoon I had to leave a day later than expected. So I suddenly needed overnight accommodation. The help desk at Narita airport had a sign claiming there was no accommodation anywhere in the Narita area. After a couple of fruitless calls I called the Mercure who took a booking with no fuss or drama. Also I thought the rate was very fair.

I had stayed in this hotel a few times about 3-4 years ago. This time it was a lot better than I remembered. Good size room, clean, friendly staff and comfortable. The room was a bit musty but opening the window for a few minutes solved that. The airport shuttle bus was big so no problems getting on it. However allow 40 minutes to reach terminal 1.

From the train station (Keisei Main Line), the hotel is closer than I thought it is. We booked twin bed from the hotel website directly with Accor group and were given a room in Annex building (new building).
Free wifi in the room :) Room bath/toilet entrance is small, normal toilet bowl, not the Japanese type. Hotel surrounding has a few food stores that open quite late, I went down around 11pm, some food store/bar were still open.
Hotel breakfast start at 615am, the staff is kind enough to let me know if I booked breakfast the night before it will cost 1200 yens, but if walk in to the restaurant in the morning without reservation, the price will be 1500 yens. I didn't eat the breakfast, so cannot review on the food. We stayed only one night and took the hotel free shuttle next day to airport at 8:30am (earliest is at 7am). Will like to stay there another time again.

We spent one night here between arriving at Narita from Osaka and leaving Japan the next day. It was very conveniently located, just outside the Keisei station (although the early morning trains woke us up), and 10 minutes or so from the airport by train. The hotel runs an infrequent shuttle bus to the airport, but it's far quicker by train.

The rooms were average size for Japan and reasonably priced, but the whole hotel could do with some renovation and the breakfast restaurant was small and crowded for the number of guests. This was adequate for a single night to save a round-trip into Tokyo, but no better than that. Narita itself has several eateries near to the hotel.

I stay there for one night after landed at Narita Airport. The hotel provide the free shuttle bus from Narita Airport (T1 & T2), but not frequent. If you miss the shuttle bus, you can take the train "Keisei Train" only 1 stop to "Narita Station (KS40)" only USD3.00, from station to hotel is around 200 meters. Even you landed at Tokyo late night, it's still easy to get there. Also near the hotel have plenty of restaurant, and convenience store. This hotel room, service, internet...overall is very good. I recommend if you stay one night for transit in Narita.

This hotel is the undisputed champion in Narita, as far as location is concerned. The rooms are small compared to Western standards and just a little bigger than Japanese standards. The rooms have a small fridge, central control console, and even a bidet in their modular bathroom. There are several pubs and eateries within less than a 5 minute walking distance. There's also a convenient store and a 24hr McDonald's nearby if you're desperate. There's also a bus that'll take you to the Aeon shopping mall for ¥200. All in all, pretty good budget hotel in the heart of the city.

Free shuttle from bus no 32 terminal 2 Narita airport. Quick and hassle free checkin. We changed our room from annex to main building after reading annex was a bit of a walk. They changed without a problem, but we went to see where annex is and it was not far. Just up to 3rd floor and across a 50 meter passage. Room big and tidy. Good quality shampoo and conditioner. Good shower pressure. Aircon controls on radio. We were very close to the lift but no noise. Very short walk to station. We bought day tcket return to Tokyo, Yen 2,200 each. Use platform 1, because platform 2 is express. It gets you to Tokyo 30 minutes faster but once on train you have to pay yen1000 extra. The slower train is 1h20min.

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking main building

Transiting one night before our final destination. Did some search and found Mercure is so conveniently located between 2 train stations and in Narita town. Hence we booked with Mercure. We took the hotel bus at number 32 after leaving the arriving hall of terminal 2 Narita airport. A breeze 20 mnute of ride took us to the hotel. The checkin was fast. Our room is in the Annexe building and abit of a walk from Main building. however it was clean and quiet. We had a twin bedroom and the room was surprisingly big compare to Japanese standard.
We love this hotel because of the easy access to the Temple and restaurant around it. We couldn't make it to Tokyo and this completes our short Japanese culture within one night. Do get the bus schedule to the international airport from front desk if you don't want to miss your flight.
