“Great for transit or early departures from Narita”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

I had an 18 hour connection in Tokyo-Narita airport and instead of staying the evening at the airport, we decided to stay at the Mercure Narita. It is right by the train station on the Keisei line AND.... there is a FREE shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel! Mind you the schedule is roughly every 1.5 hours so try to get a schedule from the hotel. For example, I arrived at Narita at 4pm but the next shuttle bus was at 5:20pm (which worked out great for me.) However, had I missed the 5:20pm bus, the next one would have arrived at 6:50pm!
Room had refrigerator, japanese toilet, tea, hote water, tv, and the usual amenities from a Mercure hotel. It's fairly basic but at the same time effective and economical/affordable. Very clean and is in center of Narita town.

Arrived late in the afternoon and made our way to the complimentary bus.
This was easy to find and helpful when you are tired.
About a 20 min drive .
Hotel is situated near a railway line in an area away from the airport.
The reception is welcoming and the staff were very friendly.
They had assigned us to a room in the annex which I had rad about on another's revue.
This.is a tired and slightly run down part of the hotel.
Upon entering the room my first impression was that it smelt musty.
There is no air conditioning so the room became quite warm during the night..
This is not pleasant and I wouldn't wish to stay here more than one night if I had to.
The room is tired and the bed was uncomfortable..but everyone has differing comfort expectations I suppose .
Went down to the restaurant to grab a meal ..a strange buffet but I was tired so I didn't venture out.
The next morning I walked down the road and found a macdonalds which would have been superior.
Breakfast was okay and all we needed.
This is a tired hotel .

Room Tip: Request not to stay In the annex

Mercure Narita Airport Hotel – best location in the center of Narita town. It is next to the Keisei train station and across the street from the JR train station. They have a nice shuttle bus to get you from Narita airport to the hotel and back. It is an easy ½-mile walk to Narita-san which is a large Buddhist 1000+ year old temple complex. The area around the hotel has many excellent restaurants. Around the corner, near the Keisei train station there is a bus stop for the AEON courtesy bus to take you to one of the larger AEON department store in this area.

Stayed 3 nights as a Le Club platinum member. Marketed as an airport hotel, but unlike the other Narita airport hotels located in the middle of nowhere, the Mercure is in fact located in the middle of downtown Narita which is a good thing. A lot of charming bars and restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. A nice main street is leading to the fantastic Naritasan temple and parks, only 800 meters from the hotel. And just across the street from the two railway stations leading into Tokyo. A 25 minutes shuttle bus ride from the airport, but have in mind that there are only 10 departures from the airport daily and only 7 from the hotel to the airport, so not very convenient. The hotel itself is really outdated with small and very basic rooms that comes with metal doors that make a lot of noise and bathrooms like the one you would find on a cruiseship (small!!), old furniture and a very low bed, makes you feel like sleeping on the floor. Also found dried blood stains on the mattress. Conclusion; Tired but affordable hotel in great location to explore Narita.

There is nothing fantastic about this hotel, but nothing terribly wrong with it either. Stayed here overnight on way to Europe, so it was convenient to Narita Airport, reasonably priced, and fitted the bill nicely. Bathroom was fine, but the room itself wasn't as clean as it could have been, which surprised me for Japan. Found the shuttle service to be terribly unreliable, so used the train instead, which I think is better anyway. Staff I encountered seemed indifferent, which also surprised me. Overall, though, if you are on a short stopover, this place would be OK if you get a preferential rate, as you are in the centre of Narita Village, rather than the middle of nowhere..

Stayed in this hotel for one night as a transit. Hotel is in the middle of Narita village which gives it a plus ahead of other hotels outside town nearer the airport. Its only a 5-minute walk from both JR and Keisei train stations. They do have free shuttle bus services to the airport but if you wish, its only a 260 Yen train ride from the airport.

As expected, the room is small. However, this is Japan and almost all rooms are small here. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant downstairs which has a buffet breakfast deal for 1500 yen. Didn't take this up because there are numerous eating joints around the hotel. Not to mention that Narita is famous for their eel. Yum.

There is some construction going on right in front of the hotel. Looks like a modern multi storey office complex. So do take care with the traffic.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a short trip to Japan.
The hotel is clean and located a stones throw away from 2 train stations which take you into Tokyo.
The rooms and hotel itself is quite outdated, needs a fresh lick of paint, new carpets and new furniture.
The staff were friendly and delivered great customer service.
Location - near to shops, the temple, the market and train stations. However it takes nearly 1.5 hours to reach Central Tokyo. One night when we missed the last train back from Tokyo at 11:25 we were quoted £220 to get back to Narita!!!!!!!
All is all it was comfortable for a short visit.
