The lake and the little stroll way in the mountain was absolutely beautiful and serene. It's about 1-2 km and super easy to walk. That was my first time to see shrine and was very impressive to see the red shrine on the lake.

This was one of my favorite shrines on our recent trip to Japan. On a sunny day with the shimmering lake below, the gorgeous lanterns nearby, and the smell of the ancient cedar grove, this place is deliriously beautiful. Be sure to make time to walk around it while on your Hakone trip/

Absolutely beautiful shrine embedded in a forest with a very scenic view of Lake Ashi. We Traveled here in July. The trail leading to the entrance is just around the corner from the bus station. Be careful crossing the road however, because cars don't typically stop around this sharp turn.
