The tour was very entertaining for the Japanese attendees. I was the only non Japanese on the tour and luckily the guide spoke some English and was able to explain some of the things she was talking about. They provided a pamphlet in English with a basic explanation of the beer making process which is common knowledge of you like beer anyway. What it needed was more explanation of the history of Kirin and the Japanese Brewing Compnay as well as details of export and brewing rights outside of Japan. The tour and exhibits were very interesting from what I was told by the guide and the best part was three FREE beers at the end of the tour. There was only a choice of the lager and the stout but that didn't matter. The stout was delicious and wasn't sold extensively throughout Japan so it's worth going just for that. The station of Shin Koyasu (for JR pass holders) is on the stopping local service in between Kawasaki and Yokohama. It's best to change at either Yokohama or Kawasaki for a quick connection to Tokyo. It's a ten minute walk as you cross the private Keikyu line and turn left up the main road. The factory is on the right hand side and the building has a large sign on the front of it. Ignore the first sign you see as this building isn't part of the tour.
