The tour was very entertaining for the Japanese attendees. I was the only non Japanese on the tour and luckily the guide spoke some English and was able to explain some of the things she was talking about. They provided a pamphlet in English with a basic explanation of the beer making process which is common knowledge of you like beer anyway. What it needed was more explanation of the history of Kirin and the Japanese Brewing Compnay as well as details of export and brewing rights outside of Japan. The tour and exhibits were very interesting from what I was told by the guide and the best part was three FREE beers at the end of the tour. There was only a choice of the lager and the stout but that didn't matter. The stout was delicious and wasn't sold extensively throughout Japan so it's worth going just for that. The station of Shin Koyasu (for JR pass holders) is on the stopping local service in between Kawasaki and Yokohama. It's best to change at either Yokohama or Kawasaki for a quick connection to Tokyo. It's a ten minute walk as you cross the private Keikyu line and turn left up the main road. The factory is on the right hand side and the building has a large sign on the front of it. Ignore the first sign you see as this building isn't part of the tour.

We went to this FREE tour of Kirin Brewery in Yokohama that offered you a tour of how beer is being made. However, the tour is only conducted in Japanese.

Nonetheless you can just follow the guide and look at the machines/photos on display.

At the end of the tour everyone gets 3 coupons for 3 free beer/soft drinks with snacks! You can then purchase some of their snacks and alcohol in a shop.

Some language barrier ended up with us being lost at where to go after our drinks & shopping but we realised we were suppose to exit out beside the shop.

Anyway the staff are friendly.

Do note you need to CALL and make a booking before going down, as their tours are scheduled and limited. We had our hotel made the call for us.

It takes maybe a 20mins walk from the station,so do leave some traveling time as tours are conducted on time.

Also Kirin owns a few huge buildings in the same area and the tour is conducted in 1 of the buidling but the friendly security guard pointed us to the right direction.

It was not too hard to find from Namamugi Station but I did get some help form the Kirin beer workers. I had ended up at the Kirin Beer factory worker entrance. Once there you register at the desk. There is a pamphlet that you can pick up that has English. Other than that there is not much English along the tour. So if you can speak some Japanese it will help. Also if you know the beer making process a little it will help. At the end of the tour you can use the tickets that you get at the beginning to get up to three Beers or for people who do not drink three no alcohol drinks. You also get a small snack. Then there is a great gift store before you exit. There are a lot of special items that you will not find elsewhere.
Then I had a wonderful lunch at the spring valley restaurant.

It was not easy to find Kirin Yokohama Beer Village. But I did not regret on time spent for search. A guide showed all stages of beer processing. Finally we tested different kinds of Kirin bear. Everything is free of charge. After tour I bought a bottle of Kirin whiskey and chocolate set in the nice store. I finished tour by excellent meal in village restaurant.
