I've stayed here several times over the last several years. It is in my opinion the best in the area. The corner double twin bed spaces have excellent space and setup. The included breakfast buffet is better than average and service is good as well. Another notable perk is it is a 2 min walk to the Shioiri Station - very convenient.

Stayed for 5 nights for business, the staff were very accommodating to late changes and could not have been more helpful despite the short notice. The breakfast buffet was a good selection and reasonably priced. The only criticism I have is that we did require a room move the last night and this had to be to a smoking room, the smell in the hallway and the room was not pleasant, thankfully the great view of the bay provided a distraction.

Excellent room (upgraded) with plenty of space, amazing views of the port, fully equipped and with the most exciting toilet I've ever experienced.

The service was charming, the wifi worked well, the breakfast was substantial and the price for two nights very reasonable.

Honestly, I've rarely stayed anywhere as satisfactory.

Room Tip: Ask for a port view!

The Mercure is a mid-range hotel which part of the Accor family (Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, Pullman) of hotels.

I had a corner room which gives you more space. The bed is comfortable, strong wi-fi in the room, electric tea kettle, ironing board and fridge.

Breakfast is a nice mix of Asian and Western style foods.

There are several meeting rooms for any business needs and good resturants.

The hotel is located within a 2 minute walk from a train station, centrally located for shopping, close to a starbucks and across the street from a smaĺl shopping mall.

The staff is accomodating and helpful.

I have stayed here in the past and will continue book here for future visits.

The Mercure Hotel is a nice typical upper midrange Japanese hotel. The room I had provided an excellent view of of the harbor. The room was really small, barely enough room to walk around the bed, but that is typical in this area. There was no exercise room but that was the only major down side. The staff was very friendly and spoke English very well. The hotel and the rooms are fairly new and are in good shape. They is also a large mall just across the street. The main gate to the Yokosuka Naval base is only a short walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the harbor on a high floor

I thought I'd try a different hotel on this trip to Yokosuka, so I booked a room at this Mercure Hotel. I normally stay at the New Yokosuka. I was hoping for a larger room than I've received in the past, but even though my room was a Privilege room (17th floor), it still wasn't very big. It was a little bigger than the New Yokosuka Standard room, though, and more nicely decorated. The entire hotel is an improvement, with nice, semi-luxurious decor everywhere.
The big improvement with this hotel is its restaurant, where my free breakfast was held every day. Great view, nice decor, and very good breakfast food.
The staff was also friendly, helpful, and courteous.
The location is excellent; right across the street from the big, multi-story mall, right next to a JR train station, the Honcho nightclub area, and the Navy base.

The corner rooms on the upper floors are nicest - companions complained about the small size of the non-corner rooms. The room is well appointed, with a smaller than normal mini-fridge, a western-sized bathroom, a desk and chair, large TV, fold out sofa and table. each room has its own WiFi. Breakfast was included upstairs, which was fairly good. It is across the street from the Daiei mall shopping center - very convenient. It is a reasonable walk or bike ride to the Navy base, downtown, and Mikasa park. The Shiori train station is adjacent to the Mercure, the Keiku line station and the Chuo station are not far either. The staff are fluent in English, but you are always welcome to practice your Japanese with them.
Less than perfect: smoking is allowed in the lower floor rooms (this IS Asia, and smoking is much more common than in USA and most of Europe) so the rooms do smell smokey; my upper floor room smelled weird, like sweaty socks; there are no drawers to store your clothes, only a decent-sized closet.
