Nice place, with clean, ensuite rooms. The staff is very friendly and will give you some pointers about what to do in Nikko. Nikko itself is a bit bussy, but still worth a visit. There is a nice, quit trail leading from the innn to a row of budas next to the river.

Average inn, small social area with a vending machine. There is a nice wash-room with a small deep bath (decorated with turtles of course). The room was very spacious with a little table and large futon.

We stayed at the annex in a Japanese style room and really enjoyed the experience. Beautiful location tucked away by the river allowing us an early morning stroll to see the stone Buddhas there. The private onsen overlooking the river was also a wonderful treat after a day of walking! The staff were friendly and kind. Would definitely go back there again.

I found this ryokan completely by chance - it was too busy in Tokyo and I was looking for 1 night
"Getaway". The only thing I am sorry about is that we didn't have enough time to stay there more...

Lovely owners with limited English but trying so much to make your stay as pleasant as possible...
Beautiful river and surrounding and wonderful fresh air

And if you love the real Japanese food - book a special dinner
at the owner's home - we really enjoyed it!

Room Tip: I think no need - it's a ryokan at the river side with a beautiful view

Our first visit to countryside hotel in Japan. We visited in winter and walked all over Nikko. Our room was warm, clean, and comfortable. The morning meal was very good and well prepared. We would definitely stay her the next time we visit Nikko.
