We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our trip to Japan. We were rather surprised with such an excellent note for this hotel on Tripadvisor and it is expensive for what it offers. Well, it is situated right in the train station. So, it takes 2 minutes to get there from your train, but you have an impression to be all the time at the station. Room was small (typical for Japan) and clean, but had a bad air conditioning. The breakfast proposed for free (initially it was not mentioned in our reservation) was terrible. I even couldn't drink my coffee (it was really bad). And finally, it is rather expensive for Japan prices for a small city.

So, I would definetely not recommend to stay there during your leisure trip!

Checked in Nara Lohas JR hotel just now. Found a dirty sock under our blanket!

Went to complain at Front desk. The receptionist sent someone up to take away the dirty sock from the room without any cleaning up.

Asked for room changed, she proposed us to change to a closed room without windows! (Of course, no! We didn't pay for staying in a closet.)

Asked for blanket changed, she said that she will give a new one to me at lobby (4/F) and I have to bring up to my room (7/F) on my own.

Asked her if there is any room checked after housekeeping staff cleaned up the room, she said not for every room. Room checked is randomly done.

To conclude,
1. cleaniness of this hotel is definitely in doubt!
2. staff's complain handling skill is completely inadequate!
3. staff's service attitude needs to be reviewed!

Liked:
- Great location by the JR station
- Choice of several kinds of pillows (self-service)
- Also self-service of free ice tea and bathroom amenities in the lobby
- Good croissants at free breakfast (otherwise ordinary)

Our room unfortunately had an unpleasant smell of dampness so we needed to turn on the AC continuously while in the room

It is one of the best Super Hotels among the ones we have stayed. The rate is reasonable, location is great, and Nara is a fantastic city to explore (if you enjoy the sight of lots of deer) The room is small but more tolerable than Kyoto's Super Hotel. Hotel Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is good for people who visited Nara for the first time. Nara is a convenient base to travel to other places such as Uji by JR.

We came in November and it seems the rate is much more expensive than other seasons.

The breakfast is just OK. There is AEON supermarket around the corner, and a very nice Japanese family restaurant called Yayoiken at the first floor which I recommend if you are travel on budget or gets a bit lazy to walk to some famous diners in city center.

We stayed for a night and we highly recommend this hotel. The place is impecable and the staff, usual japanese politeness aside, speaks very good english. Breakfast is free and they have a decent range of food to choose from. I would definetely come back here!
