We stayed here 4 nights. There are very few western tourists here as Wakayama is somewhat off the tourist trail. Our room is a king taken up pretty much by the bed. We have enough space for our cases and to hang some clothes. The bathroom is adequate with shower over the bath and a small step down with good amenities. Check in was at three so we had to wait a while but the friendly staff let us in as soon as they could. Breakfast is quite good with a range of Japanese and western but trending more to the Japanese. The strange delight here was a delicious pot of crime caramel.

The location is convenient to the J R station and bus stops. Wakayama is a very spread out city and doesn’t have much in terms of atmosphere or even people in this part of the city except in the evening when shuttered doors open to become little restaurants and bars.

We used Wakayama as a staging post to see Koyasan.

Ever since chancing upon a Dormy Inn previously, I would always look for a Dormy Inn wherever I travel in Japan. The Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama was wonderful as expected.

The location was great -- just a short walk from the JR station, with a good number of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself followed a clean, simple design. The rooms were small but well equipped.

The highlight of the hotel was, of course, the wonderful hot spring (onsen). One could monitor from the room whether the onsen was crowded or not. The onsen was very clean and pleasant. I even had a great surprise one morning to be enjoying the onsen with 30 apples -- what a treat!

The hotel also provided late night snack for free.

The service was very friendly and helpful.

My stay there confirmed once again my trust in Dormy Inn for providing great value.

Thank you for your warm review.

As you mentioned, our hotel locates near JR Wakayama station with only a few minute walk. You can go almost everywhere that is famous in Wakayama prefecture by train.
Also, our hotel group serves free noodle every night. The noodle service is highly preferred by our guests.
In conclusion, our hotel will keep up trying to improve our hotel quality for all of our guests to feel like at home.

We hope to see you again.

Although the room was small, it was clean and cozy with all the necessary amenities. As with all Dormy Inn Premiun, there’s udon for supper. Breakfast buffet is available at a reasonable price. Great place to stay and good value for money if space is not a requirement.

The Dormy chain offers consistently good value for money and a comfortable stay. Though the rooms can be a bit cozy if you have big luggage, they are well laid out and always clean. Good beds. This was in a great location just 5-10 minutes from the train and bus station. This offers one of the best Japanese hotel baths we had though it is not on the rooftop. Good breakfasts and of course free ramen noodles at night. Highly recommend.
