I arrived at Fukuoka without booking any accommodation, and came to this hotel blindly upon the recommendation of the lady at Fukuoka JR's tourist information center.
If this hotel was half-decent, then it'd be a real bargain as it's only a two-minute walk to Hakata JR station, and an even shorter walk to bus stop for the 88 route which goes to the International Ferry Terminal. However, it's pretty run-down, and dirty. I arrived at the hotel and enquired to see a room first, and the guy promptly showed me one which was unclean! He then took me to another one which was marginally cleaner but as I couldn't find anywhere cheaper for a one-night stay, I paid the 4600 Yen for a single room. Imagine my fury then when I found out about the brand new Capsule Inn just round the corner the next morning, which charges around the same but looks 100 times nicer (though I assume you use a shared bathroom for that but hey, it's probably cleaner than the one in Hakata Business Hotel!).
My room was ok - carpet a bit dirty, bed linen a bit worn but at least comfortable and the heating was good. The shower was fine but I couldn't help but think the whole place was a bit slimy and old. Its staff were also useless, and there's a curfew for around midnight.
Overall, don't stay there if you don't have to. Go to the Capsule Inn right opposite of Hakata JR instead.
