“Japanese Hotel...Yes it is”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

There is nothing remarkable about the hotel. It is common in it's furnishings, small size, cleanliness and price. It is, however, super conveniently located in the city. You can walk to a number of bars and clubs or the ocean front part of the city. What little I remember of the stay was pleasant and there is everything you need in this tiny room. There is also the perfunctory vending machine with the less conservative contents and it can be entertaining to look at. There are all sorts of Cadillac functions on the toilet seat, but once you go down that road and start pressing buttons, you could induce genital injury or blindness if not paying attention. Jk. There is a bidet function and a drying function and a heating function and a fan function, but combine all those with not reading Japanese and you could end up doing something you have to drink heavily to forget ever happened.

Room Tip: Know how to make phone calls - instructions on phone make no sense Be a foreigner - they are super...

The hotel is in a very favourable location with just few minutes walk to the Hakata Main Station where we can find department stores, lots of varieties of shops and restaurants. Room is quite small and is a little worn out. Free Wifi in room. The staff are quite friendly with just enough English. It is a fine hotel to stay a night for other destinations.

The Richmond Hotel near Hakata station in Fukuoka is a great bargain for it's convenience and cozy atmosphere. Nestled in right next to the massive Yodabashi camera store (making it easy to tell taxi drivers where to drop you off) and only a 5-minute walk to station, this hotel offers great comfort at an affordable price. I stayed in a single with a slightly bigger bed, and enjoyed free wi-fi and nice bathroom amenities. The only negative was, while the room had a window, it had absolutely no view except for the blank wall of the camera store next door. The staff were helpful, spoke a little English if needed, and check-in was a breeze. I was very satisfied and would stay there again.

Room Tip: The only downside to the room is the airconditioning system is a little complicated, and entirely in...

I requested a higher floor room because I needed a quiet room. Although the hotel provided the highest floor, the room was facing the next building's walls. Views were completely blocked. Although there were walls, in some how, external noise level was bad. I suppose that the window does not block the external noise properly. One lady front staff was extremely kind. Front staff in general could communicate in English. The hotel is located in 5 minutes walking distance from Fukuoka Station. It is a big advantage. Breakfast was a choice of out of a few set menu with some buffet style. The quality of Breakfast was quite good and many items of the breakfast was quite delicious. The breakfast includes tea, coffee, yogurt and salad etc.

Room Tip: Street side rooms have views with noise. The opposite facing rooms do not have any views at all. All...

Stayed here in October 2012. Hotel was located on a quiet street close to Hakata station. Not the most exciting part of town, but felt very safe.

The hotel had free wifi that worked well.

Rooms were small, but clean, modern, and well-lit. Our room had a fridge.

Staff was very polite. Some staff spoke better English than others. They were able to provide an excellent yakatori recommendation.

I got great deal for the renewal price. The room is what they call " hollywood twins" room, so it was like a king size bed in a room all for by myself. yea, all rooms in a "business hotel" in Japan are small, but this particular room was relatively large. I could stay there with my partner or a friend for sure. For the price, it cannot beat. Very clean, and the bathroom was bigger than other hotels in this range.

Room Tip: Ask for "Hollywood Twin" you get a bigger bed (actually two beds connected) and a bigger r...
