“A basic three star hotel”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Room is small but typical of Japan Hotel. Great location but could be a bit hard to find if you don't take the correct exit out of the train station.

Breakfast is basic but adequate. I actually like Hakata Miyako Hotel better.

My friend has to literally beg for two room keys. I found it very odd.

We chose this hotel because of its convenient location next to JR station, good breakfast spread and the onsen. We were not disappointed. The buffet breakfast was satisfying and the menu changed daily. There was more than enough to eat, and you must go early if you want to avoid the crowd. The onsen is small but comfortable, but it is a bit inconvenient for ladies because for security reasons, you can only enter the Females Onsen with the access card; you need to get the access card from the 1F front desk, and then ake the lift to the basement where the onsen is located. If you choose not to change your towels, they will also offer a complimentary bottle of drink of your choice (water/green tea), though it was not offered to us maybe because we were foreigners and they do not know how to explain it to us in English? The rooms were what we expected of business hotels in Japan, clean and basic. We would stay here again if we visit Fukuoka next time.

I stayed here for two nights. The location of this hotel is great, it is just one pedestrian overpass from JR Hakata station. The hotel has a strange policy where you return your room key every time you leave the hotel. I found the front desk busy often, so it was a hassle to return and pick up your room key every time you leave and enter the hotel.

The service was friendly but there was a bare minimum English spoken here. It is good enough to check in and check out, as well as to ask to get your bags held.

The main problems I found with this hotel was that the bed was very poor. I stayed in several hotels in Japan, and I find them in general firmer than beds in North America. The bed I received was the firmest bed I have ever slept in, making it difficult to sleep. The room itself was clean like other hotels in Japan, but it was quite dated, the wallpaper was peeling a bit and it smelled quite musty in my room.

The free breakfast provided was from a quite large buffet, but the room itself was too small, as it was quite difficult to find a seat, and the queue for food was pretty long. Although the selection was large, I found the food of poor quality, even compared to other free breakfasts I received in Japan. I only ate the breakfast there once.

If location is your top priority, this is a decent pick, otherwise look elsewhere.

the hotel is 10mins away from fukuoka airport and right next to the train station so perfect for traveling we stayed for 14 nights and found the room to be far too small, we only had 4 coat hangers and had to ask for more, the bed was very firm and the pillows where too, the room was spotlessly clean and sheets and towels changed every day, the breakfast was, to be honest for Japanese tastes and we only went for the first few days, lettuce, cabbage, rice, fish, and soup weren't our ideal breakfast items so went to a small café in the station, the staff where very nice and they have a very reasonable laundry service get your clothes to reception by 9am and they where back by 6 the same day, im sure this hotel would be perfect for a couple of days but not for the 14 nights we stayed

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April 2013. The room is rather small but it's properly designed. The bathroom is also small but it managed to have a small bathtub. Breakfast was self service with mostly Japanese selections, which we found quite tasty. There are public bath rooms for men and women separately. Inside the bath, there're coin operated washers(200 Yen) and driers (100 Yen for 30 minutes). The hotel is next to the Hakata station and the bus terminal. It's easily accessible from the station, subway and the airport. Staffs are attentive. There're two computers in the lobby for the guests to check e-mail, search for information ,etc.

The hotel is right above the Hakata Underground Station so you can go to the airport very easily. The staff is helpful and speaks English. The rooms are very small and the cleaning staff is particular picky that you put your garbage in the right box in the room for combustible and non-combustible items. The hot bath at the basement is quite small and was congested the first night I went there. The restaurant on the ground floor is also small and it may be difficult to find a seat especially when the checkout time is set at 10am. There is a humidifier within the room but there was difficulty to operate it properly.
