“This is a huge place that is packed with amazing history.”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

It is well worth your time to come here to see what these people did without any power/heavy equipment. Their military planning does seem to have been in need of some assistance, but overall, they were headed in the right direction. We would have loved to seen this place hundreds of years ago. It is so rich in Japanese history. My family loved it as is shows what their ancestors were like and what they accomplished with such limited resources of the day.

“The place to be on the Weekend”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

The ruins are quite extensive and interesting. I went at the end a Sakura but there were still plenty of cherry blossoms. There were a lot of people picnicking under the trees and it was definitely the place to be in Fukuoka. There was also a lot of food trucks near the castle so it makes the whole area a fun place to visit.

“Much more than few walls”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

The whole area remains at the heart of the community, with local sports facilities being build alongside ancient monuments. Couple that with a beautiful park and it would be difficult not to like, we only explored the monument route, I am sure much more is there to enjoy.

“Nice view”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

As the attraction is called, these are castle remains, not the actual castle. A part of the moat, and an entrance gate remain though. There are also a couple of turrets that remain, but that's about as much castle that you will see. As we ventured farther into the ruins, we found the foundation of the original castle, and from here there is an amazing view of Fukuoka city. Although it takes you away from the central city, there was a street vendor where you could buy food.

The ruins themselves are free of charge and make for a great sightseeing trip.
