“Good location, value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

This is a very good hotel. Location is good, near the Hakata station and Canal City Mall. We stayed in the triple room, which fits 5 of us (2 adults + 3 kids). The room is clean, staff helpful with good English. We even try out the hot spring opposite the hotel ( so good after a day of walking). The only complaint is the wifi. The wifi connection in our room is very weak, all 5 of us ended up in the lobby every night to check our email, etc.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good bathrooms, good breakfast (good coffee machine), conveniently located, overall a pleasant experience, so you can imagine our disappointment when they refused to supply a receipt for our cash payment.

Great location, only 10 min walk from Hakata station. Room is slightly larger than the typical business hotel (still small for world standards)...efficient check-in and check-out...only problem was the weak wifi, if I actually had some important work to do, it would've been a big problem...everything else was great!

For the purposes of putting bags down and somewhere to put up our feet after a good days outing with the family around this pleasantly presented city.....this hotel was ok. If you are a family with young kids you'll need your stroller otherwise skip this one. Typical business hotel with usual bath unit which is small but it does the job. Breakfast was standard fare for Japanese business hotels but I would have thought there would be some little special something for Christmas Day. Special mention for the hotels restaurant Bar Alba - overpriced flashy dishes which wouldn't look out of place in a 5star hotel, and the service was poor.....staff only interested in the young ladies preferring to chat with them than afford us the same level of service e.g. getting our coats and jackets that they did with other customers.....poor service!

This was nearly the cheapest hotel on out recent month-long trip to Japan but had everything you could need and was clean and quiet. A fair 10 minute walk from the train station but in a very nice business district.

The small double room was much bigger than the other 'small' rooms we encountered across Japan.

As expected, Japanese hotels are usually spotless and this one is no exception. Rooms like fairly new with fresh carpeting and equipped with fridge and hair dryer. Wifi is available free of charge. Reception always had an English-speaking person on duty and are quick to serve you. The 100 yen bus stop is just on the main road 1 block away, which is 1 stop after Hakata station going in the direction of Tenjin. It was a 10-minute walk otherwise to the station, which seemed a bit further than I thought as there are also other similiar-budget hotels closer.

I stayed at the Sunline for 1 night at the start of my most recent Japanese holiday, and found the location and quality of the room to be very good. On arrival I was surprised, the room was larger than those I have encountered in Tokyo and Osaka, and filled with the all amenities that traditionally come with Japanese hotels.
Decor was modern, the hotel must be fairly new, and showed no signs of age. Check in and out was easy, with not a huge amount of English used but was no problems.
Location is perfect and less than 10 minutes to Hakata station, i did the trip in 5-6 minutes some trips, likewise there is a Lawson's convenience store 2 minutes walk away. Hakata station and area is filled with restaurants and bars.
If you need a quality business hotel under $100 AUD near the station, I recommend this property.
