We had a small double room and a larger twin room in this new boutique style hotel. The double room is really very small when you bring 2 suitcases in the room. But we managed. All facilities in the room are there, even safe, coffee making facilities, charging adapters for all types of mobile phones and a small fridge. It's a pity you have to collect tea-bags from the reception. Like the bedroom the bathroom is very modern and has a great walk-in rain-shower and fortunately no bath to stand in. Compared to the bedroom the bathroom maybe even called spacious. The location is convenient half way the train station and the port of Kagoshima, with lots of restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: If you bring a lot of luggage you might consider not taking the smallest room in this hotel.

This hotel is good value for money in a new and modern building. It is centrally located and close to restaurants and bars. Our room was very clean, small but smartly designed. Parking close by. Friendly check in. Tramway just in front. Would go again !

A simple modern hotel located in the middle of the city centre. Easy access from JR station by tram A (red line) and hop off at stop Tenmonkan, walk 3-5min back on the right side. Or by airport shuttle bus (45-60min), same stop, 2min walk. Hotel is situated right next to the Tully's cafe on the 3rd floor. Lots of convenient stores, restaurants, cafés, bars and bakeries in this area.

Stayed in a small single bedroom, approx 10m2 and fits one big suitcase, room is very clean, free bathroom amenities, daily complimentary bottle of mineral water, free tea (Lipton tea bags at reception), free wifi, free slippers, little fridge, iPhone charger and massage chair available for use, shower stream and bed comfort are superb.

They also have a ladies floor (3rd/F), additional available in the room are facial care, fragrance diffuser and an electric hairbrush.

Outwardly the REMM is stylish, even the lobby exudes class and sophistication, you have to catch the lift from ground floor up to the reception/check-in desk. Staff very friendly, lots of smiling and nodding, fantastic! Back on the lift to our room. We booked a twin room, so needless to say, when travelling, all tourists have suitcases! We opened the door and the room was immaculately clean, and again very stylish right out of the pages of a high class magazine...that is, until you have to enter. There were two beds, (being a twin room) and to make them fit into the room, one was up against a giant glass wall (which had the shower/bathroom on the other side) and the other bed was pushed up against the other bed, meaning there was no room in between the two beds...so how does one get into the bed up against the wall? Interesting...problem solved...we tried to pull them apart ever so slightly to allow just barely leg room between the two and then discovered that then pushed that bed into the tiny little round table which was already up against an in built corner padded seat! This then lead across the window which had the most incredible view of Kagoshima and views to Sakurajima...that was awesome! Again, because the room was so small and the TV was a large screen it covered most of the window so to see the view you had to be standing! The feature in the room was a massage chair...which, due to space constrictions...because there were two beds in the room...meant it could only be pushed up into the other corner on the other side of the TV. There was a kettle which could only be plugged in behind the TV?!?! And there was a refrigerator...the smallest I have ever seen in my life. About the size of an A4 sheet of paper cubed, I didn't know they made them that small! So basically the only two seats in the room faced away from the window and the TV because they couldn't fit otherwise?
The bathroom like I said had a huge glass panel and so did the door, so if you are sharing with someone you don't particularly want to see your birthday suit, beware...there is a blind you can close on the glass panel which looks directly at the beds, but the glass door, well lets just say, you have to try and hang something on it or over it to add a little privacy! There is a massive shower and bathtub. Interesting design, perhaps they could have compacted the shower area a little more to add more room into the bedroom/living area!
The complimentary shower products to use in the bathroom are the nicest I have used, so good in fact you can buy them from a vending machine to take with you when you leave. The shower wash, ohhhhh, nice!
The toilet is seperate and it has a proper door...wow!
The vanity basin is also seperate and that's an advantage.
There is room to hang only the next days clothes.
So where do you put your suitcases??????
We stayed two nights, so each morning we had to pack our suitcases up like we were leaving and put them up in the corner beside the window so the cleaners could access the bedding.
It was an experience, and I can see they are trying to mix some Japanese culture into a modern theme...trust me, what tourists need is a little extra space!
Again, my frustration, no laundry for guests?!?!
I don't get it, hotels are for travellers, either local or overseas, they need to wash their clothes! It seriously would not take too much for a couple of coin operated washer/dryers to be installed in a common area for guests convenience!
Location is fantastic, you can walk from the JR Kagoshima station, hop off the Shinkansen and it takes about 10 - 15 minutes heading towards the main shopping area and there you are! Buses are outside the door, but a brisk walk we found easier especially with suitcases.
Being so close to the main shopping area there is plenty of food outlets, a Mos Burger which is one of the best in Japan, and it is very handy to the St Francis Xavier Cathedral, only about a 5 - 10 minute walk.
There is also a Tully's coffee shop at the entrance to the lobby (ground floor) and it always seems to be open...very yummy coffee. There are several convenience stores in every direction you look.
Would I stay here again...if it was just for a one night stop over, sure. If it was for anything longer than one night, no, unfortunately it's just way toooooooooooooo small......

Room Tip: Higher floor with a view and ask for the biggest room they have...........
