Hotel Azat
Ranked #29 of 111 Hotels / Ryokan in Naha

The hotel is 10-15min walking distance to International (Kokusai) street. Our room was small even in Japanese Standard. We reserved for a non-smoking room but was giving a smoking room with strong smoke smell still in the room. This is really bad for our 3 years old kid.

Pros:
- Next to Asato monorail
- Close to International (Kokusai) street with lots of restaurants
- Cheap hotel
- Free wifi in the room & hotel

Cons:
- A bit dated
- Breakfast was very basic with few selection
- No pool
- Parking fee, JPY 500
- Check out time is 10am and there is a penalty for late check out
- Staff can’t speak English (like most Japanese hotel)

I would recommend to stay somewhere else.

One of the best "Best Western" hotels. Right under ASATO monorail station (some maps wrongly position it two blocks from the monorail, so pay attention ). Big rooms , efficient and all the amenities. We wanted NON SMOKING rooms but were not available. the corridor in the 6th floor had a heavy smoke atmosphere but happily not the room. (we don't understand if so many people ask for non smoking rooms to the level be unavailable(!) why the don't turn permqnetelly more rooms to non smoking ones? Very good all. Recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking rooms

It's a short walk from the famous kokusai street and seconds from asato monorail station... We had a great room with a view, delicious breakfast daily and was able to rent a car from the front desk, staff speaks many languages and are extremely friendly

We booked a premier twin room, breakfast included. The hotel also provides wi-fi access for guests. The room located at 9th floor, which is the top floor. This is a smoking floor, the staff said they have clear the smell. When we open the door, there is some bad smell, but disappeared after we turned on the air-con. We have bought some sashimi and planned to eat it in the evening. We did not notice that the fridge is not turned on so the food turned bad (what a waste!) Hotel provides neither bottle water nor electric kettle. We bought water in a convenience store just at the ground floor. The hotel location is excellent as it is very close to the monorail. We bought a one day tourist pass (600 yen) and we may travel along the monorail. It took less than 30 minutes to the airport. The food for breakfast is just average, not much food to choose. Breakfast time is 7-10am, and the checkout time is 10am. You will need to pay penalty for late check-out. Our room is big but really nothing more to say.

i visited this hotel aug 2-9..its a good location near the monorail and the staff are helpful and smiley ( just like everywhere in Japan )
however..there is something you should know..the hotel operates a strict 10.00AM check out procedure and you must pay 700 yen for each half hour you keep the room..upto a maximum of 2PM..then u must pay a full extra nite after this time..similarly they operate a strict check in of 3pm..so even if you arrive 1PM and the room is ready you must pay 700 yen for each half hour or wait until 3pm..this is all rather ridiculous and pedantic in my opinion!! customers will always arrive at different times of the day after travelling many hours to get there..you dont want to hear " your room is ready..but you are 1 hour early so please give us 1400 yen!!
the breakfast is poor..unless you love "Runny" scrambled eggs and mini burgers..its very basic but no cereals/yoghurts etc
The room is okay with very small bathrooms..our room was around 23SQM..good size
To get the aircondition working properly you must either read japanese or have a masters degree in Electronic engineering
overall hotel ok..good price etc..has 7-11 style shop right outside the hotel ( its called coco i think)
a couple of restaurants nearby..but one stop from this station has alot shops/stores..just a few mins
there is not much to do in naha..but good location to "feed off" to other places north and south

Room Tip: book the bigger superior room..and ask for room at the back..away from main road

RIght beside the monorail which was good but you really need a car to see much
Excellent supermarket across the road.
We booked two rooms but they upgraded up to the penthouse for 500yen per night!
Breakfast was good but not excellent
Would stay here again if we had a car

The BW Naha is in a great spot - the proximity to the monorail makes for a dream trip from the airport - about 100 metres each end to get to the hotel. The monorail also goes to Naha Castle at the other end of the line - get a tourist day card for Y600 as you get a discount on entry to random places too.

The price of the hotel was also great, so that was quite alluring. On the first night though, the steel like nature of the bed and the pillow combined with an air conditioner that sounded like a tornado did make me wonder if I could stay for the 3 nights as planned.

I did ask about other pillow options, but was advised only one standard pillow available - more wheat beads than padding though, so if you're not used to Japanese pillows be aware. The staff, like most Okinawans were friendly and able to help when asked questions about tourist type things. Overall, it wasn't too bad, but I can't highly recommend it to someone. If you get a great price, go for it - there are a lot of places that look like either the top end of town or flea pits in Naha.

Oh, and the breakfast was not too bad. And there's a convenience store downstairs for wine, snacks and other necessities (and a beer vending machine on the 8th floor).

Room Tip: If you're not a smoker make sure you book a room on the non smoking floor.
