On the edge of Lake Kawaguchi with fantastic views of Mt Fuji and the lake, it is a perfect location to enjoy the ever changing view of the mountain. When we stayed there we had perfect blue cloudless skies giving us perfect photos of Mt Fuji in all her majesty, then just a few hours later she was completely covered by cloud. On waking the next morning there she was again glistening in the morning sunlight, snow covered and quite magical.

The hotel is fresh and clean, but perhaps a little dated looking. We chose a room in the traditional ryukan style, although there are western style rooms available as well. It was very spacious and had everything we needed including hot water to make green tea and little biscuits shaped like Mt Fuji :). The foyer and meals areas are more western in style. It is a good mix of modern and traditional.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service at certain hours to and from Kawaguchi railway station and bus station which are side by side in the town. However if you don't have much luggage it is a pleasant 20-30 minute stroll around the lake edge if you feel like doing that. It is certainly lovely to walk around parts of the lake once you have settled in.

We chose to include the dinner and breakfast package in our booking, which proved to be very convenient as there aren't many restaurants nearby and when we were there in March, the temp was about 2 degrees C in the evening. The meals were lovely, in the traditional style, very fresh and plentiful and really delicious.

The staff were very attentive and courteous and very helpful in advising us about local cafes and attractions. Be warned that there are no shops nearby as the whole street is taken up with hotels, so if you'd like some snacks or liquor to enjoy in your room whilst looking out to the view we suggest you get it in the town, at the station before going to the hotel. They do have the ubiquitous vending machine on the 2nd floor, selling beer but if you don't like beer there is little else except for syrupy pop drinks. So, BYO goodies to your room.

We would recommend this hotel as good for a night or two's stay as although not what you'd call exciting, it is more than adequate and quite nice.

Room Tip: High floor in the taller building at the back, facing the lake is best.

Nice, comfortable, large rooms. I had a single room, actually a room with twin beds but amenities set for one person. Lots of room to work on a laptop computer. WI-FI as well as local network connections in the rooms. A mini-bar refrigerator and an empty refrigerator for your own use. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. A coupla doors away from a supermarket where you can anything kinds of drinks and food stuff – get some local snack foods to take home as gifts. There is a McDonalds as well as a restaurant, a 100-yen shop and others in that supermarket building. A short ½-hour walk or a quick bus or inexpensive taxi ride takes you to a really large AEON Mall.

Not a bad place to stay for a week or less. Wifi is sketchy, AC in the room didn't work that well and the remote was in Japanese. The bed was relatively comfortable, but was lacking real bed linens. Breakfast was free and they did offer a rather odd (by US standards) selection of food. It was all good though. The staff was very friendly and helped out with taxi service, places to visit and other needs. I would stay there again.

Room was good size for Japanese standards, had a fridge, minibar, balcony, Iron/iron board, wifi, restaurant for breakfast.
Reception staff are very helpful and friendly.
TV have some channels but all in Japanese, Pay TV 4 channels prebuy with card in hallway. Rooms are very dated and old looking.
It's ok for a night but more than that without being busy in the daytime it is rough.
Nothing around the hotel to do, a zoo is close by.

Company put me up there for two nights, The staff was friendly, wifi wasn't that great if and when it worked. You do get a free breakfast voucher and the restaurant wasn't bad. You are near everything, the hotel it self is a little outdated but i would stay there again.
