This zoo is smaller than i imagined and does not have a great variety of animals you normally find. Giraffes and Elephants are the two impressive mammals of this place. You often find one animal being kept in relatively small cages that are lack of space to move. It was a rainy day when we visited there, so I decided to take the kid to the museum near the entrance. It's quite an interactive place where kids can explore science and physics. If you've never been Okinawa and you are with kids, it is fine to go there for once.

If you travelled 2nd time to Okinawa and have young children this place is perfect for you. We were unlucky as it was raining but we still walked through the entire park. Nice game you can see. Many different turtles, snakes etc. Of course not comparable with a big city zoo like Singapore or Tokyo. Not many people so its a very relaxing walk. You can rent a fishing rod which we did. My kids loved it. Very Memorable and sure my kids would go back anytime just for the fishing. Have fun

We were all excited before going to this zoo.
It’s quite disappointing when we stepped in.

The zoo looks like it stays in the 80’s.

There were some rides for the children near the entrance once we passed the garden. But the rides were all worn out. I did two rides with my boys anyway, the old man operating it was very friendly and my little boys enjoyed it.

It’s very disappointing that at least half of the zoo was being re-constructed (without any notice or announcement shown anywhere). There were lot of animals not been seen.

There was one or two of the animal in each area and it felt kind of sad. The giraffes had the largest open area to move around but all the rest were kept in cages, you could barely see them. And it’s so sad to see them being kept in such a small area.

They had restaurant (with air con) on the other side near the entrance. Loads of vending machines for ice cream and drinks (thumbs up for this)

We spent two hours there and had to leave because it was too hot and not much to see.

I hope they will do better after the re-construction. And they may consider to re-do the cages.i mean give them some more space and air!!!

Afterall, I think it’s fine for very young children to run around but not so much for older kids or adults.

Feel sorry for those old workers in the zoo like they were really trying hard to keep the zoo going but it’s just not working well.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This zoo was absolutely horrible. I love going to zoos for every place I travel to, so we were super excited for the elephant rides and other neat attractions they had listed. I went the week after Christmas because I was told the lights and fake snow area were to die for. The animals were clearly malnourished. The monkey's hair was so matted that I couldn't bear to look at them. Every single exhibit was dirty and looked like it had never been kept up. The reptile room (if you can even call it that) HAD A DEAD LIZARD BEING PASSED OFF AS ALIVE!! It took us a minute to notice the tiny pin holding the lizard to the tree. The best part about this zoo is the food at the beginning. Half of the exhibits were closed, and the other half were so bad, I left with a hurting heart. Do NOT go here unless you have papers to shut this place down. Plz don't support what these people are doing.
