Big rooms, great staff who are very helpful, good pool and lovely views what more do you need. Rooms are comfortable, furniture is well worn and beds a little hard. Restaurant available, small shop available. Will need transport to get around but you will need transport to get around Okinawa any way.

we booked this hotel last minute, the night before we flew to okinawa, as the hotel we were hoping to stay at fell through
didnt do much research (that will teach us) and just assumed that a hotel on an island that had 'resort' in the title would have a nice pool/beach/garden area for some relaxing in the sun
not the case
whilst this is a big grand hotel that is all it is - there are no out side areas at all, the pool is indoors, it isnt near the beach, or anything else for that matter - just 1 local restaurant just outside the hotel
the staff are really great and the treatments on the 14th floor are just about the best ive ever had - the girls up there are fabulous, possibly even magic
but the hotel is obviously a bit old and hasnt been modernised for a while - its strange coming from travelling around japan you come to okinawa and its completely different - although the hotel is clean and well maintained, its not up to the standard we had been used to in japan
there are free shuttles to and from naha airport and the american village
we spent most days in naha as there was nothing to do at the hotel
the sushi restaurant was nice though
i think if you have a car then this hotel is a good base to explore okinawa as it is pretty centrally located on the island, but if you dont then i wouldnt stay here
we booked this with a massive discount, happy with the price i paid for this hotel as it was pretty cheap but definitely wouldnt be happy if i had paid full price here

My husband and I stayed here back in July 2013, as we decided to go to Okinawa for our honeymoon. After searching through reviews of countless hotels, we settled for this one, and we were not disappointed!

I will give this hotel a lot of credit due to the fact that we were English-speaking tourists and did not know much Japanese. They had shuttle services that picked you up or drop you off the airport, but arranging an appointment was a bit difficult due to long-distance call and language barriers - nonetheless, the hotel staff was more than willing to help and were very kind and welcoming both during check-in and check-out.

Our hotel room was a suite on the very top floor, so our hotel room went beyond our expectations! Cleanliness from housekeeping was top notch, as we always returned to a clean and fresh room. And during the summer season, the hotel always had entertainment and events in the lobby, making the Okinawan scene very lively. The only downside honestly was the restaurant inside the hotel. While the quality of the buffet was very good, it was very pricy and was much cheaper to eat out instead.

Location was very good as well - since we rented a car, we were able to be just a few minutes away from many parts of the island. It was especially convenient being near Chatan and American Village, since we visited those areas many times during the week.

All in all, we throughly loved our stay at Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel. Personally, I felt that even when it came time to go home, I could stay on the island for much longer! If my husband and I ever visit Okinawa again, we would love to stay at Tokyo Dai-ichi again!!
