The hotel is super close to everything you need. When you first exit from the main entrance from the JR Aomori train station (not shin Aomori), the hotel is locate in the left hand side. The hotel building sign is in Japanese but it close to Toyoko-in aomori hotel. The bus stop to LAKE TOWADA & ORISE STREAM is right in front by cross the street. You can book ticket in the office in front of the bus stop (suggest book in advance). The walking street where you can find shop and restaurant is just on the corner. The Wifi were okay but the room is small as usual japanese hotel. Free breakfast nothing much but acceptable.

We found this hotel typical of the chain, small rooms, clean and efficient, but nothing outstanding. It was fine for one night on the way back to Tokyo. Our twin beds were comfortable and we had room for our bags (just). It was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed in and we thought it overpriced for what it offered in comparison with other similar business hotels.

I booked this hotel as a western double and breakfast. And although it had a bed rather than a futon on the floor, the floor would have been more comfortable. The bed was as a hard as concrete with a tatami mat over the so called mattress. Neither of us got any sleep at all and as the room was so small we couldn't even sleep on the floor. I was actually in pain and had marks from the mat all over my legs, hips and arms.

Now we have already been in Japan for several weeks so are used to the harder style beds that prevail here so we do know the difference between a simply firm Japanese bed and one that is completely incapable of allowing sleep. This room should NOT have been advertised as western.

And neither should the breakfast. Nothing western about it at all.

When I went to ask for something to be done suddenly no one could understand me but when we checked out a day early and asked for a refund of one night suddenly everyone understood me as their 24 hour notice policy was quickly pointed out to me.

If they advertise a room and breakfast as western then that is what I expect. This is the only unpleasant experience we have had in Japan and we will never return to Aomori -shzme it IX probably a nice place.

Don't stay here - stay on the train and go to Hokkaido.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.
