“I like this hotel.”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

I stayed 2 nights. This hotel is splendid. It was a very comfortable stay. I have an almost good impression for Dormy Inn chain hotels. (Tokyo Hatchobori, Suidobashi, Nagasaki,Otaru premium etc) Particularly I like here. May be, more than Otaru premium.

The best thing is staffs, every staff! They are kind and friendly and have a very nice,home-like,fine atmosphere. They say "Hello!", "Good morning ", "Welcome home back!"and "Please take your time" etc. It is exceedingly usual and normal. Other Hotels' staffs do the same,I know. But they say them with tenderness, not unctuous but insulting, not in an unctuous voice. They lent us big umbrella when it was raining.

・Breakfast.
It is not luxurious.(Otaru's one was so gorgeous!) But they remind us a homemade meal=simple, Old-fashioned,nutritional balanced Japanese food. They were good. I was very glad and felt very happy. It's nostalgic

・Room.
It was clean and larger than Otaru's.

・Natural hot spring(The large spa).
It was not large. But so nice. Spring quality is chloride spring. That tastes a little bit salty.
In the small open‐air bath, many lemons floating on the water! In the morning(about 08:30) there was nobody there. It was only me. You can find Free washing and Pay drying machines.

・Location. It takes 8min from the station.

・Language.
Displayed in 4 kinds. Japanese,Chinese, Korean, English.

I liked this hotel.

We stayed at the Dormy Inn Sendai for 2 nights and found the room to be clean, comfortable and perfect for our brief stay. The staff spoke some English and were very helpful when we asked for directions to the bus station and information on Matsushima Bay. The hotel is located close to the train and bus stations and very close to the big mall in Sendai; there are also lost of restaurants close by. A good choice all round!

booked two rooms for one night at the hotel with family. though its room rate is slightly more expensive than other bussiness hotel in the same class and its room size is no bigger than others. at least it offers two adantages that exces others: 1. it has a natural hot spring bath on the top floor that is free for the hotel guests and provides free noodles at the restaurant located at the hotel lobby beginning from 9:30pm. what a nice treat! 2. its breakfast buffet offers a pretty wide selection of food and many are very delicious and yummy. even my parents love it and enjoyed the food very much. and some staff do speak good english and so communication is not a problem at all.
and its location is another selling point of the hotel. only around 5 to 7 min of walk from the rail station. so take the footbridge or skyway on your right and keep walking along on the right side once out of the west exit. and there are many restaurants and shopping centers nearby. there is even an observation deck at the top floor of a shopping center that is free of entrance fee. get there you can have a very good view of the city.

The hotel is very close to the Sendai station and it is surrounded by restaurants and a department store. It has a very good Japanese breakfast and it offers free ramen each night around 10PM at the breakfast area. The hotel is clean but we were not able to access wifi in the lobby area. The hotel staff was also very helpful in providing us a map to parks where we can have the best view of the cherry blossoms when we visited at the end of April 2012.

The Sendai station close by is full with fabulous sweets and food vendors. If time allows, take the JR Senseki line to Matsushima Bay from the Sendai station. It is well worth the 30 minute train ride to see the beautiful pine tree islands.

We did not have the chance to even step into the hotel room on check-in day; 11 March 2010 as the earthquake struck before we got the hotel keys. Despite that, during the next 2 days taking shelter at the hotel lobby, the hotel staff were all so professional, extremely patient and took great efforts to make sure all guests who were stuck at the lobby have enough blankets to keep warm / have sufficient food & water and all common areas including the 2 toilets were spotless at all times..

My husband even witnessed the hotel staff queueing at the Family Mart for more than an hour to get food for the hotel guests! Selfless behaviour during the such hard times and this hotel deserves strong business support ... hopefully in the very near future when restoration works are completed and life is back to normal in Tohoku/Sendai.

You can see hotel building once you exit from JR station, just look at right side from the bridge. Superb location.

Spacious room with interesting plan, I like it! The best for this hotel is hot bath tub w/ sauna room at top floor. The atmosphere there just like in some nice spa, dim light w/ soothing sound, and yesss, Tsubaki shampoo too :) It was not crowded. I went at late night, and found no one in bathroom.

Best of the best is free ramen served at cafe near lobby at 10 PM everyday, w/ free softdrink. I don't know whether this promotion had expired or not, you can check in hotel's website. The only bad point is that there was only 2 computers provided in the lobby, and the internet speed was too slow!

I recommend this place for any Sendai trip, luxury stay in a budget!
