“Central, but rather expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

The hotel is part of the Sendai Station complex; this is its main advantage. The rooms are spacious, and foreign visitors have enough storage room. In comparison to hotels of the same standard in other Japanese cities, the prices are rather high. Also, we did not succeed to make a reservation over the internet, but had to get the help of our Kyoto hotel.

Very convenient to the main JR train station (about five minutes walking distance). We booked a twin room ( two full size beds). White linens, confortable pillows. The front desk staff was very helpful. I will recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Room Tip: High floors rooms are the best as you can see the City.

I had two stays on business in November 2013. This comfortable business class Hotel is in a very accessible location next to the main JR station and bus routes.

Business class rooms have reliable wifi, desks and comfortable white linens, duvets and very good pillows. Efficient and uiet climate control too. Upper floors have good views overlooking the shopping district in one direction, and out towards the coast in the other direction.

Smart and clean restaurant is on the 2nd floor for international style dinner options or breakfast buffet with fruit, pastries, cereals and hot western and traditional Japanese options.

Room Tip: Higher floors have good views over the cityscape.

I usually prefer a place in the downtown area with a greater selection of restaurants and shops withing close walking proximity, but this met my particular needs for this trip as the hotel is extremely convenient for travel by train since it is attached to the train station.
Rooms were decent, bathroom was dated (tub with shower curtain).
Bed comfort was average.
Quietness of the room was good.

We too arrived very late at night from California via Narita. All flights had been delayed because of typhoon. The hotel is attached to the train station making the trip from the airport very easy. The room has two beds, both slightly larger than a twin and really comfortable. White linens, duvets and very good pillows. There is a large picture window looking down on the shopping district, with blackout drapes. Room is fresh and recently decorated. I have no idea why previous reviewer didn't talk to the front desk about his room. Our room is non-smoking and has an air purifier to boot. We arrived very late and within 5 minutes out stuffy room was very fresh and cool from air conditioning. Small window opens, but air conditioning is absolutely silent and fast - great after day touring. The Loople tourist bus is right outside (bus stop 9) and train to Matsushima is in station. Lots of shopping nearby and only 10 mins from university. Restaurants in station and hotel, otherwise a few minutes walk to find more restaurants. Breakfast is in a restaurant on the 2 nd floor with a very nice buffet including fruit, pastries, warm western food, traditional Japanese, cereals, and far too many items to mention. You might find a cheaper hotel, but this one is very central, very quiet and very comfortable. The wifi is very reliable. My only minor complaint is amenities are completely geared towards men and TV has no international channels. I found front desk English only a problem once, but didn't expect a lot of English in Sendai. They were most helpful and very willing to assist.

Room Tip: We are on the 10th floor overlooking street, with nice street view but high enough to be quiet. Lea...

I stayed one day for profession meeting. I chose the hotel because it is next to the Sendai JR station and there is direct train from Sendai Airport to Sendai JR station and not have to look for the hotel after a long an internal flight from California.

The room is small. The room is full of cigarette smoke and I had to open the window to breath and sleep at night. The bed is small and the mattress is soft. There is only 1 towel in the room so after taking a shower before going to sleep after a 12 hours international flight there is no dry towel in the morning. Room is so small even for Japanese standard there is no room to even turn. The complimentary breakfast in the morning (I chose the western) had poor selection of food even by a Japanese standard.

The front desk had poor understanding of English. There are many cheaper hotels close by the Sendai JR station, just take a taxi from the station and save some money.

Location is not a reason to be a bad hotel.

Stayed overnight at this hotel so just had a limited exposure to it. My room was large, maybe got a better deal than some of the other reviewers. I was catching the Shinkansen to Tokyo the next morning so this was a very convenient location. The breakfast buffet was good enough, the computer access was no problem...I had WiFi, don't know why some others didn't.
I've stayed at plenty of hotels in Japan. This hotel is better than most, especially when you get away from Tokyo.
Pros: Location, Location, Location. Better than the Westin
Cons: Facing the Westin and wondering what is over there...
