I stayed here for 5 days. This hotel was like home where I could relax after full days of meetings.

2 hours of free high speed Internet every day included

I lived in this hotel many times and it was OK…not my choice but of the clients. This time, it was amazing experience and although I planned to live for 4 days, I check out today….as the lady at the Reception was not at all helpful….I guess what the issue with this hotel is that it is still “SOVIET STYLE”…facts to prove it! No one at reception will ever greet you when you come with a smile. There is “Talon” given for Breakfast (NO ONE HOTEL IN ALMATY Does it anymore), On the Lift its wirten 50,000 Tenge Penalty if you broke something…(Have you seen it in any other decent Hotel?)…..What signal it gives to the Clients? Internet is “Free” for “2 Hours/Day” only…in this age of Web…rest you have to buy for 700 KZT/hour ($5/Per hour)…you tihnk its fair?
The investor has invested in Hotel a lot and has made it very nice and clean…what he/she had not done is investing in the Employee…they are same old SOVIET CCCP Style people with same sttitude of Customer Service….Owner needs to change that image…and teach the Lady at reception to be more caring…

For Customers: If You want to enjoy SOVET CCCP Type service..uyut is the best plcae!

The name of the hotel translates as cosiness - and this is exactly what is missing there. Lack of any taste, lack of any desire to be friendly - this is what you feel in Uyut. The rooms are clean but not nice. The staff responds to your needs only if you highly demand. I left a message at the reception for a friend who should have been coming during the night - the message was not given to my friend upon his arrival; also, he was given the other room than the one we booked. The breakfast - you will like it only if you love cold meat in the morning. The only thing which i would not complain about was good internet connection free for 1 hours per day.

We arrived at 6.30 AM, breakfast was from 7.30, but staff managed early breakfast for us. Breakfast was not very rich, but acceptable except for coffee - it was instant! Check-in staff was very helpful with everything - from arranging taxi, who could draw a cheque (normally no taxi driver bothers himself with checks), to tips for sightseeing and umbrella-offer for a rainy day. Room was average and really noisy, because on the first floor just near the hotel entrance. TV set was broken and bathroom was confusing - new tiles, but old WC bowl and bath-tube, hotel shower gel and shampoo was used and was not replaced during my stay, but my colleague's bathroom and TV set was in good condition. :) If you are looking for AC remote control, it's placed on the wall quite high! :) Across the street is small and very expensive super-market, very close is greengrocery and very good bakery (you should try sweet chack-chack! :) ). Few blocks away is super-market "Yubeleyniy", where food, drinks and other first necessity articles :) can be bought (supermarket accepts credit cards). There is also a BUM store where habersdashery, clothes, crockery, china etc. can be bought, but only in cash. Within 15-20 minutes walk there is a "Zeleniy bazar" (Green market), where fresh and dried fruit and vegetables, salad and meat, clothes and shoes can be bought. We checked-out very late (at 11.30 PM), but we were charged only for 2 not 3 nights, as it would be in any other hotel.

Small rooms, dated decor, crummy restaurant and mattresses that are as hard as a sheet of plywood. This hotel is definitely not a place I'd recommend anyone stay at.

Oh yes, the icing on the cake is that they change 1000 Tenge (about $6.50) an hour for their WiFi access.

Complete rip-off.
