A group of Kenyans and Americans stayed at this all-inclusive resort for 4-5 days, which included a beach-side wedding. The setting is gorgeous with a white sand, palm-strewn, guarded beach. The well-maintained, lovely swimming pool is adjacent to the open-air dining area where meals were served buffet-style. Rooms are simple and clean; our room had an ocean-front view. The reception staff, on the other hand, were not very welcoming and there were difficulties concerning what the bridal party had negotiated for our stay and arrangements upon arrival. Be sure to clarify expectations. Best way to arrive is by air to Malindi, then a 15 minute taxi ride.

Room Tip: Poolside or beachfront rooms have the best views.

awesome experience, the rooms are very clean and large, the staff were friendly warm and welcoming. The food was amazing.would recommend they use the area near the reception and the bar plus tv room for shisha since its an open space and the couches are beautiful and comfortable .would also recommend tv for every room instead of just one tv area.the pool is very clean and the proximity to the beach is great...

Room Tip: corner suites are large, warm and a sunny beautiful ,balcony ie on the 1st floor.

Traveled to Malindi as a group in March and stayed at this resort. First off, they got our room specifications mixed up. Two people were meant to share a room but on separate beds. When we got there, most of us had to share a bed. The rooms are spacious but there's no TV in the rooms. The beds are quite comfortable. The toilets are not well cleaned. The shower was good but the space in the shower was really small.

The restaurant food was terrible. They mostly had Italian food I guess because most of their guest are Italian. The desserts were bad at most meals with fruits either being raw or almost spoilt. There was a bit of discrimination because the foreign guests got better service than the locals. We once asked for ice cream since we were doing an all inclusive package but we were told we had to pay for it.

The beach is public so there's the problem of beach boys who can nag you to death. :(
The swimming pool is small at least for the group that I went with. Having been to other resorts, this place is not worth it at all.

we had a wonderful seven night stay at malindi. the reception was not too informative about the facilities but we soon found our way around.the staff are very patient and friendly. the food was lovely and if you are a fish lover then you will b treated to it every day. the rooms are clean and large.all in all a very good experience. the beach boys are abit troublesome but considering tourism is their livelyhood you cant blame them.mid april to july is the rainy season there so be wary when booking.its best to fly into malindi fron nairobi as the road trip from mombasa is about 2 hours n very bumpy.

My husband and I just returned from a 5-night stay at Sandies Tropical Village. We had a wonderful experience! The rooms are large and clean; we would recommend a room on the second floor with a balcony. The Italian buffet was excellent with lots of options. We enjoyed the beach and pool. There are a lot of guys selling things on the beach, although the resort's beach area is roped off so it's not a big disturbance. We would definitely recommend a beach vacation at Tropical Village!
