“Good business hotel near KIPCO tower”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Very convenient location for business if you happen to have work in the area. The staff is very helpful at all positions, from front desk, to customer service and restaurant staff. Breakfast provide mostly what you would expect for a five star hotel (except for French cheese). Rates are very affordable at 75 KWD ++ for a standard room. If you need laundry and plan to have lunch or dinner there, then go for the executive rooms at 90 KWD ++ including vouchers for laundry, lunch and access to the executive lounge. There is also a nice pool on the 12th floor with great view of the city. Room decoration is a ageing and very dull, but it has all you need.
All in all a very good choice.

Room Tip: All rooms are similar.

A well-run, clean and friendly hotel. Staff were excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable. Swimming pool is fantastic, and at 20-25m in length much better than the average hotel pool, one you can genuinely swim lengths in. The 'in-house' Indian restaurant is also excellent, but quite expensive. In the attached mall there are some alternative places to eat that provide great food at much cheaper prices.

I spent 4 nights there in a business trip attending the Arab-Africa summit last winter, and it was fantastic, every corner of this place was neat and tidy. They have also a very delicious breakfast buffet, offering plenty of cuisines to all gastronomes. Room service is also very good, the size of the room is more than enough and equipped with everything you need.

Have you noticed that Marriott seems to be leveraging its "Courtyard" brand on more upscale properties? Well, that is certainly the case in Kuwait City. I recently spent a number of nights here on a business trip, and found the hotel to be simply wonderful. The hotel itself is quite new, and the rooms large, clean, and well appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. And, importantly, the food at the buffet - both for Breakfast and Dinner - is nothing short of outstanding. Kuwait City is not inexpensive for hotels, however, and you will pay for this privilege of staying at the Courtyard Kuwait City.

My company stays here for business and I really like staying at this hotel. It is a very nice, clean smart hotel with very comfortable beds and all of the in room facilities you require including tea, coffee, free wifi etc.

The bath is the deepest bath I have ever bathed in and it is really nice to relax in. The toiletries supplied are also of a nice quality.

There is a very good gym in the hotel and also a roof top pool that is really nice to relax in, just remember to cover up when walking from the pool area to other areas of the hotel.

There are a couple of restaurants on site and they also offer room service with a good selection of food including a spice menu that offers kebabs, curry etc

There is a souk nearby to go shopping and there are also a few restaurants opposite the hotel that a cheap for a curry or kebab.

Overall a great stay and can't wait to come back.

The Kuwait City Courtyard by Marriott is a part of a new, luxury, business, commercial and hotel complex, well located on Shuhada Street, a 20 minute walk from Souk Sharq and the Kuwait trademark Water Towers (and yes, one can pleasantly walk in Kuwait during the winter months).

I spent three weeks in a luxury single room, which was very comfortable, spacious and well suited for business needs (internet connection, desk, etc.). Amenities are quite good, although not at the level of a five-star hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room well maintained and the staff pleasant and capable.

The health club is quite large and well equipped and I made good use of it as often as I had time. The staff are well trained and can offer assistance.

There are only 2 restaurants in the hotel - a buffet and an Indian - both of which produce excellent food. The buffet, the Atrium Restaurant, (with a limited ala carte menu as well) is in the hotel's 8 story atrium and is where I had every breakfast and many dinners. The Indian restaurant (Soul and Spice) is on the same floor but is enclosed, allowing for a more intimacy. While not especially spicy (I thrive on chilies), the food is well prepared, well presented and very tasty.

Other than a Pizza Hut and a not so good Japanese restaurant, the only other restaurants in the neighborhood to which one might walk at night are 2 other Indian restaurants. If one has a friend or colleague that knows Kuwait, or is willing to take a taxi to the Avenues or Marina malls, the choice of eateries is largely magnified.

As usual, the staff make or break a hotel. At Courtyard, the staff are well trained, generally very pleasant and helpful people which helped to make my stay a pleasure.

Room Tip: My room was on the 9th floor, with a very good view. Because of the atrium, if you are offered a roo...
