We booked two rooms for three nights earlier this month. We bailed out after the first night. The location is horrible! You have to navigate major highways to get across before you get anywhere near the old town. It is not close at all.
The rooms are big, but there are no drawers, just a closet, and a long long table running the length of the room. Sure, there is a sea view in the distance, but you look out over one of the roads.
No tourist information at all,. and nothing in the rooms. I asked for a map, or information and the reception did not have anything, only a large book put out by the Tourism Ministry on all of Lebanon.
Breakfast was abominable and not fresh. The wi-fi rates were exhorbitant,
We navigated our way to the old town and went into the touristic information centre and the very helpful woman there rang Hotel Ahiram and arranged for us to go and look at rooms there. It was a very good move.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and liked it a lot. Our room was spacious, there was enough room for an extra bed. The hotel is within 7-10 min walk from 'the old city'. The hotel staff is very friendly and ready to help. The hotel is a good choice in terms of value for money, location (close to the key tourist attractions) and services.

This new boutique hotel is cute and very well priced. I liked it a lot!

7 - 10 minute walk to the beautiful ancient city of Byblos. Wonderful view of both the city and the sea. from the balcony. I highly recommend it.

The hotel's location was great and close to everything. It was walking distance from the historical sigh and lots of nice shops close by for shopping. The rooms were beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the family-like atmosphere and the staff were extremely pleasant and happy to help us with whatever we needed. They are also very generous and allowed us early check in at 10:00am and even offered free breakfast on our arrival. I would go there again with my family and highly recommend it to others.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights on a business trip. The rooms are big and clean but could do with little bit more Toiletries. The room door lock was not proper . inspite of informing the receptionist about the same ,nothing was done but was told to jam it hard.i hope owner get it repaired otherwise he would be left with a broken door.
Breakfast was nice but few things vanished for couple of days when there were less customers,i guess??

The first day we arrived, me and the rest of the group, we waited for about an hour or more to have our keys (although they knew the time of our arrival). the staff was troubled going up and down the stairs... The number of clients is more than the number of the rooms.. they did the registration of all the group without checking their availabilities, this is what we understood from their whispers. The waiting hours ended when they gave us the keys.... We oppened the door, me and my husband, the room was clean, the bed (actually 2 single beds stuck) was tidy but you can see the surprise when you remove the cover of the bed to sleep. you can see the hair of the old customer on the pillow :( it was really disgusting so we called the secretary who was usually angry and impatient (but good looking) to send a cleaner. whenever we call for someting, the service is done after hours. The secretary was really unfriendly, she was always nervous. Her substitute was nicer and friendlier.
After many arguments with the receptionist and the director (he did many things at the same time: he was the director, the waiter and working the the front office dealing with the customers complaints)
Another terrible thing that I saw only in that hotel is the food. The first day the food was Hommas (mashed chickpeas), green salad with fatuuch (fried bread) and rice with chicked. The food also was terrible. it was really the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
We also blamed the power cut but later we discovered that all the country suffers from this problem due to the war.

We stayed at the Canari de Byblos (pronounced can-a-ree de bee-blose) for three nights (August 12-14). The hotel is not in the center of Byblos or by the ruins, but it is about a 10 minute walk. As I believe other reviews noted, it could be a hairy walk- drivers in Lebanon are not very pedestrain friendly. Make a right out of the hotel and make a left over the overpath to get into the center of town. DO NOT try and walk across the roundabout.

The lobby is modern. The staff is friendly enough. WARNING: They wanted to hold on to our passports dring our stay. We completely refused and they held on to copies. You should not agree to leave your passport in the hands of anyone.

The room was clean and very understated. Modern enough. See the picture attached of our room- #502 with balcony and a sea view. The view was one of the highlights.

There is free parking underneath the hotel (warning: driving in Lebanon can be pretty hair raising). There is no fitness center, restaurant, or pool. Breakfast is included and consists of traditional Lebanese starters. My husband and enjoyed it.

On a personal note- we had a wedding to attend during our stay and the owner, Raymond, personally arranged for a car service for us (to and from). The service was easily charged on our hotel tab and was very reasonably priced.
