“Exquisite Gem of the Mediterranean”

Ecstatic praise for this hotel, its location, its impressive restoration, decor and room ambience: worth every Lebanese pound to stay here and watch the sun set over the rocky platforms beyond the windows as the sea laps the foreshore. I love Lebanon passionately - Byblos (Jbeil) provides an escape from the harsher southern realities and is best early in the season before the main holidays start when you can have it to yourself.

The en suite bathrooms and large comfortable beds are divine; fresh fruit in the bowl awaiting your return from the sunlit streets and in spring and autumn the electric storms coming in across the Mediterranean sea lure you into the heart of nature.

A place to return to again and again.

Room Tip: The end rooms also have a view north over the coastline and beach but the front aspect is the main t...

Spent the weekend in the hotel. Very nice and excellent service. The seafood restaurant is excellent. The location is prime and close to everything that counts in Byblos? Only problem faced was the location of the television in the room and its receiver.

Room Tip: Suites facing the ocean or port are great

We wanted to escape the heat of Beirut so we decided to head to Byblos Sur Mer for a short stay. Byblos by itself is a piece of heaven, so we didn't want a hotel to ruin it for us. The hotel was strategically located on the sea. Doesn't matter which room you booked, you will get a sea view. I booked a suite which I found to be very clean, neat, and original. The balcony is spacious and the view is just stunning. As for the price, I think it is justifiable for a peak season. One thing I found disturbing is that the pillows and blankets had a smelt weird and maybe it is time to replace them.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 207

It is a great place to stay, if you decide to spend a couple of days in the ancient city of Byblos. Great sea view, and close to the historic castle, the old souk, the port and the sea.

Great for couples as well as families, everyone will finds what he seeks, whether romance, contemplation, or simple relaxation.

The food is also worth noting.

I am sure to visit this magical place many more times.

Room Tip: All rooms are facing the sea so no need for any tipping

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we had a really pleasant stay. The location is almost ideal - overlooking the water and 2 skips from the Old Town. I say 'almost' because there is a road which runs between the hotel and the sea which can get noisy, I'm not sure if it's possible to escape the car horns wherever you are in Lebanon.

As you would expect for the price, the rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I understand that they've been recently renovated - the style is contemporary but with appropriate nods to the past.

There were plenty of nice touches - fruit and nuts every day, an excellent shower and generally excellent service. Niggles were the breakfast - 2 out of 3 days, we had to set our own table when we got down there - and the lack of a pool or beach-side area. That will improve shortly when the terrace opens, though the 'pool' is little more than a puddle. However, generally a very good place to lay your head.

Going to Lebanon I strongly suggest to go to Byblos sur mer. Good hotel located on ancient port and surrounded by fish restaurant of good quality.
Inside the rooms are clean and large.
As welcome you will receive dry fruits every day.
Workers are always available and problem solvers.
Possible to have a walk in the small jewel ancient town.
I will come again.
One negative point? Breakfast not rich but more than acceptable.

The hotel is right next to the antic harbour and facing the sea.
We wanted to have a lunch at Dar l'Azrak outdoor seafood restaurant ... but the restaurant was closed on a sunny spring day. What a deception!
We ended to have a drink at the hotel lounge before joining our local friends who secured a table Chez Sami on the way back to Beirut, which was a terrific gastronomic consolation.
