This is where you want to stay in Byblos. Perfect serene location, away from the traffic and hustle, but 4 minutes walk to everything you need. The huts are basic, but brilliant and set right in top of the harbour. Mr Miled who runs this place is super helpful and just a great decent guy. This is all before you get onto the restaurant, which is a must and the best setting in town. Eleven chefs hats from me.

As mentioned in a lot of reviews, the location is perfect, right at the harbour in the old town, easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the old souk. We arrived early evening on a Friday and were lucky to get a parking place just outside Pepe’s (the restaurant that runs the guest house), the parking attendants charge 5,000 L.L. per day (about $3). The rooms are small, but share a seating area, as it was still low season we had the whole area to ourselves. Not much to the rooms, warmly decorated, very basic, and as mentioned, no wardrobe. In the seating area which had lots of natural light and pot plants was a water cooler for hot and cold drinking water, there was also a small fridge on this, but it only kept things cool, not really chilling, it was sufficient to keep milk for the baby and tonic for our G&T’s. We didn’t have any problems with noise as mentioned by some reviews, but as it was low season, we had no neighbours and the bar mentioned by one review was closed.

There are 2 parts to Pepe’s restaurant, the fishing club above the harbour and the garden, both are very pleasant and have very friendly staff, the fishing club is booked full for Sunday lunch, so either book or look elsewhere. As mentioned they only open at 10am, so a morning coffee is a bit of an exploration, the restaurant in the hotel at the entrance to the harbour opens at 7am for breakfast, but we found a nice deli in town that has good coffee and fresh croissants to enjoy on the terrace.

The drains in the bathroom blocked up, apparent because we flush the loo paper down them, in our defence there are no signs warning about this hazard, the staff sort it out though without a hassle.

Overall for the price you pay, I think it is great value, in a great location. If you looking for a hotel with all its bells and whistles look elsewhere, but if you looking for a comfortable, affordable base to explore Byblos from, this is the place! We will be staying here again on out next visit to Byblos.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 & 3 have a better views.

The location of this place really can't be beat, but as other commenters have noted, it's not a full 'hotel' experience. There are three rooms that share a seating area, so it's nice to have a quiet place away from the hustle of Byblos but you are definitely right next door to the other rooms. We had the place to ourselves and it was great. Perfectly quiet, heater/fan, good hot water. The town was rammed on Sunday when we arrived but the actual archaeological site was basically empty at sunset. If you are driving yourself, beware that parking could be a nightmare. We were lucky enough to get a space right in front of the hotel. When checking on the car later that night, the car park assistant flagged us down and pointed out that someone had hit our car whilst pulling out of the spot. We had a rental car and were worried about drama but Monsieur Miled from the guesthouse and the car park guy actually got the name of the guy that hit us, talked to him, sorted out the insurance and then talked to the car rental guy from Avis the next morning. All very above and beyond and made what could have been a day-long drama into an hour's delay. Very grateful for the fantastic service, esp Mr. Miled!! Thank you!

If you need just a bed, warm shower and a clean toilet, this is the place for you. It was clean, cheap, nice sea view and in walking distance to EVERYTHING. It was great for us because we never use the other amenities offered in hotels anyway. We were there in Jan so things were pretty quite. We did hear the guests in the next room.... every word... but was not a bother for us. No phone or room service was not an issue either. The restaurant runs the place and is next door. I could understand the other reviews complaining about no phone and the noise in high season unless you have a cell and you're there for the night life anyway.

The guest house is located in an absolutely perfect location, just meters from the old port, which is simply stunning. The rooms themselves are a little small bit certainly cosy, beautifully decorated and very characterful. Ours had a patio area in a lovely garden that was fantastic for an evening gin and tonic (the manager was also happy to provide us with ice, glasses and a knife to cut the lemon!).
The manager was exceedingly welcoming, and made our stay a great one. He really went above and beyond the call of duty with his help and warmth. We didn't get around to trying the attached restaurant, but the food did always look and smell delicious.
All in all, if staying in Byblos, you can't go wrong with the Fishing Club.

This is such a charming place to stay and is right in the centre of byblos. I was slightly weary because a reviewer commented about the noise from a nearby pub but thankfully this place had closed down by the time we stayed. I personally thought it was great value (especially coming from beirut which is NOT cheap!). I would definitely recommend this guesthouse (and also the fishing club restaurant which has an amazing mezze!)

Room Tip: The suite is great value if you can get it.
