Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple
Reviewed 29 May 2014

I find this temple in no purpose. When we go to Kotaraya from JB Central, we see this temple.
It is so unique and beautiful. Because we passing by on the night, so we just see from outside.
so awesome.. the light makes the temple more beautiful.
Nearby, we can find many flower for pray store and india CD store.

So, in my opinion, if you visit johor Bahru, perhaps you can crossing by and visit this temple for a while and see new experience here.

Went there with a Hindu friend from Nepal. She had heard of this temple when she was working in KL and asked for me to bring her there. This temple is only has one way entrance and could be accessible through the inner road of Danga City Mall (Former Best World Plaza). The interior of the temple is filled with little price of mirrors pieced together to form the wall covers. With proper lighting, the light reflection from the glass will transcend a different ambience within the temple grounds. No flash photography inside, just a gesture of respect. Take off your shoes & socks before entering the interior grounds of the temple.

The chap in charge of your(fee of 50 Malaysian sen) shoes custody was a BURMESE BUDDHIST seeking to live a LIFE
away from (the then MILITIARY REGIME).

The negative before entrance was the garland shop owner who was rather curt and unfriendly(hope this was his OFF day-
or he and self did not connect KARMICALLY.)

The sales(religious items and icons etc.,inside the TEMPLE)

were as friendly as the PRIESTS.

The glass/mirrors effect was more than reflecting the SERENDIPITY of the HOLINESS of the DEITIES inside.

BY the way, the entrance to the inner sanctum was guarded
by the MAIN DEITY's TWO sons.

a background knowledge of BASIC HINDUISM would be a tremendous help to visitors.

N.B.

BUDDHISM is an offshoot of HINDUISM,
like SIKHISM.

I read the previous reviews in Trip Advisor and so wanted to visit the place after my visit to LEGOLAND. We covered Lego land one complete day and swa the temple on our return the next day.
If you are driving, it will be a challenge for the GPS to drive you in exact location. There will be few locations across other street and there is certain walking into the allay where the actual temple is located. But seeing temple, all these struggle of parking far and then reaching pays off.
The very entry was fabulous and you can also see from outside, the complete temple walls and construction covered with various colored glasses. We were 2 Indian families and none of us saw such temple back in India, so worth visit for those who have visited various temples, as this is not a simple one..it is actually a Glass...
Though, not a large area as such temples should be still a 30 minutes worth a visit. Various Gods and Goddesses' statues. They don't allow to take picture of main Goddess, else you can take all pics. Interior is worth visiting and unique in itself. Quite a dedicated work and class.
Not to be missed if you can spare additional 2 hrs in JB.
