Stay here for a night. It is a good hotel, the room is spacious (I took deluxe room), clean, washroom is neat n tidy.. But currently the hotel lobby renovation is in progress, you can see (and hear from your room) lots of works at the lobby area. And they're working during day time. If you're staying here just for night nap, then it should be OK. The guest receptionist said that they targeted to complete the renovation works in Dec 2013 and it might drag to Jan 2014. Still, it is a nice hotel to stay in JB.

I have only a comment to the hotel management - Can you have the wifi at all floor. Come on, people don't carry laptop anymore.. :)

Stay here for 2 nights, only 20 minutes to legoland. Nearby got Mc Donald and chinese food. The room is big and clean. the restaurant just renovated so is very nice, and the breakfast is ok. but the lobby still under renovation but not a problem for me. Did not try the swimming pool because two days play in legoland and legoland water park is enjoyable, buy the two days ticket for both park but two days spend on water park more than the dry park. Two days in legoland also eat in the burger king, is infront the theme park so you have to come out. 10 years never try burger king only that day feel the burger and chicken is nicer than other KFC and MC donald (only my personal taste). may be we are too hungry that time. In the hotel two days also go back to the same chinese restaurant to eat. I think just 5 minutes walk from the hotels.

Stayed here for 2 nights with family and kids duing my trip to Legoland/Singapore. The room is big (comes with 2 double big), clean and equiped with basic amenities. The room rate is very reasonable (booked direct through hotel website) and includes breakfast for 2. Parking is easily available at the front of the hotel (open space) and location is about 30 minutes from Legoland.

Customer service is very good here and our request for extra towel etc are attended promptly. Breakfast was quite good.

This is an old hotel currently undergoing extensive renovations in the lobby area. Access to the temporary reception may be slightly difficult for those with mobility issues because the front is covered with hoardings and guests can only enter from one side.
The rooms themselves are pretty standard. The bed was comfortable for a good night's sleep and the room had all the usual amenities. They are showing signs of age and maybe they should start refreshing some of the rooms as well.
Didn't try the breakfast this time so no comment there.
Overall, a comfortable night here for a quick business trip and I might return again once they've finished their renovation.

One pet peeve: I'm a smoker and the hotel has got to change the match supplier. The matches are low quality and break easily.

The room we stayed was a bit aged in terms of decor and furniture, but very spacious. Try not to get the rooms facing the railway track at the back as it was a bit noisy. Breakfast selection was ok. There is a shopping mall next door but personally I would go to KSL shopping mall about 10 minutes away. Easy to get transport from the hotel. It is newer and offers better shopping and selection. Overall good value for money and decent stay.

Good room facilities, clean sheets and very spacious, overlooking JB to the north. Room facilities are up to standard. A little concerned over their swimming pool facilities and their gym - pool deck chairs are turning yellow and very old and the gym equipment needs a good service. Also number of non-residential guests but gym members using the equipment with their families often arising in machine hogging.

Overall a nice experience with good facilities but need a tighter look at managing both the physical condition of their facilities as well as the authenticity of the users of hotel faciliries. I can use their pool and gym easily without being a member or guest as there are no checks in place which resulted in overcrowding.

Also, no wifi in room. These days people do not use cable anymore because of smart devices and tablets and charging them at expensive rates for the use of cable doesnt get the hotel anywhere on par with some of the 2 or 3 stars.

Price a little over the board n not very competitive as an old hotel with less advanced modern facilities.

Room Tip: Rooms generally ok but better on higher floors.

I stayed in mutiara for 1 night. Check in was good and fast. Stayed in deluxe room facing pool. Room was big n nice. Worth for d money spent however thts only first impression . We brought bab together so expected perfect cleanliness...the bedsheets had hairs frm previous occupants. I thought bed sheets was supposed to be clean. Pillow was dusty, dont kbow if the room was not occupied for some time. The bathroom was with moulds almost everywhere even around the margins of bath tub. The exhaust fan cover was covered with thick dust, not sure if it was effective because ofall the dusts clogged. The waste bin not clean with dirty brownish stains at the sides.

The hotel does not live up to expectation according to the stars. The only good thing was the price was reasonable maybe for such standard. I will be looking for other hotels next time.
