The decorations of the restaurant is very interesting and compelling. It lures you in because you would wonder how it looks like from within. The concept was very refreshing as it distinguishes itself from any typical cafe around the JB region.

The food itself was very good too. The beverages served were very good too especially the coffees. The decoration on top of the coffee was very well done. The value of the F&B were very reasonable I would say.

On the second floor, there are outdoor seating available. For those of you who would enjoy a night view of the streets, you may choose to sit there.

The only thing I lament is the waiting time. The waiting time for the food to be served was quite long and the waiters were not very friendly. Other than that, its all good.

The BEST coffee I've ever had. Seriously. Food also pretty good (pineapple chicken is fantastic) and reasonably priced. Whacky decor, but a breath of fresh air around here. Love it.

Don’t be fooled… Monsta Café looks like a kids café from the outside. But that’s just the genius concept to lure parents in… once you’re inside you’ll realize this is a place with loads to love for kids and parents alike.

Monsta Café would be at home in Sydney’s funky Newtown area or Vancouver’s Yaletown neighborhood. It’s cool retro styling is fun and fresh, and the menu is filled with tasty food and drink options. We’ve been twice now, and everything we’ve tried is delicious. The kids love the Macaroni Cheese and Italian Fried Chicken Strips (we steal the amazing aioli that comes with the strips!). The Nasi Lemak is also good… my rice was soft, fragrant and nicely coconutty.

The Peach Smoothie is beyond words… a must try.

The interior design team deserves a special pat-on-the-back. Why have a boring old floor like 99.99% of all other cafés, when you can lay the floor with an entire book printed onto tiles!

Bonus… there is also a more upscale (i.e. more adult) café by the same owners directly in front of Monsta Café. We haven’t tried this yet, but again the interior design and menu both look fantastic.

I really, genuinely recommend Monsta Café… I haven’t seen anything else like it in Johor.
