Everything about this place makes it a good spot for a break from Sinagpore. Its looking a little tired yes, but the kids love it. Its good value and when you have been a few times you might be able to find it without going via the South Pole, but then they unravel it every time, with the same incompetent, couldn't care less, I hate my job and will share that feeling with you, "Reception Staff".

When will Hotel Managers figure out your front desk staff make or break the stay, and they are the only reason I wont be back.

I read some online comments and expect the facility to be a bit old. To my surprise, it is well maintained and price is very good.

The service is good, every employee smile to guest. Housekeeping is well done.
The room is very big. (my booking is a suite for four pax, have a big living room, and two bedrooms)

The location is a bit far way from downtown, but we have a car so this is not an issue at all.
The nearest two shopping malls are 3.7KM and 7KM away. The hotel reception desk has maps for nearby places of interest.

It also has a beautiful Golf court.
Like many Malaysia hotel, here has not free WIFI, so better to buy a celecom wireless card before you enter hotel.

it was a last minute decision... booked the hotel a day before.

upon arrival by car... ample parking space.
was greeted by busy but smiling staff as there's a big group of people checking in & out.
we got our room quite fast thou... a 1 bedroom suite.
room was ok... we got a low floor, the balcony facing the hotel swimming pool.
no bathtub... just shower head. tv was not working but was change immediately.

if u r not playing golf then this hotel is only meant for relaxation. big area but little things to do. swimming pool near hotel is a bit small compare to the one near the golf centre.

restaurant near the golf centre served good food.

This resort is out of town and if you only plan on staying and relaxing here, then it is fine. However, if you plan on venturing out of the resort for some sightseeing, then it is better that you have your own mode of transport.

We stayed here for 3 nights and booked 2 studio suites. Overall, staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Check-in and check-out were a little slow although there wasn't a queue both times.

Our room was a disappointment. Although spacious, the room floor was dirty, bathroom sink area was stained quite badly (had to wash it myself), no bath rug was provided, the shower holder was broken, mini bar fridge was not working, leaking and disgustingly moldy inside, main room light was dim because one of the bulbs wasn't working and the dark balcony had an empty light bulb socket. The furniture had seen better days with some chipped or broken parts. Thankfully the bed linens were clean and the bed fairly comfortable. As a precautionary measure, we had brought along our electric mosquito repellant which, as it turned out, came in very handy because there were mosquitoes in the room!

Facilities wise, the swimming pools were clean and a joy to swim in. The gym was well equipped and there were bicycles for rent for those who wanted to explore the resort area (which was quite beautiful).

We found room service food ridiculously pricey and lousy. The food at Gleneagles Terrace was better in comparison and slightly cheaper. The food at Qing Palace restaurant, though a little pricey, was tasty with good portions. Buffet breakfast every morning was okay with a reasonable variety.

If not for the state of our room, we would say that this resort was good value for money. However, having paid the amount that we did and being given the room that we had, it was definitely NOT value for money. This resort seriously needs reburbishing...and SOON!!

I'm a Singaporean who's exploring Country Clubs/Resorts in JB for the very first time.

And the experience just blew me away. I've been going to places like Bintan, Batam, Tioman, for resort vacations in the past - to be ripped off in SG Dollars with overpriced merchandise, mediocre massages and lousy "local foods" at tourist prices.

However, all these do not apply for Pulai Springs Resort. The Qing Palace Chinese Halal restaurant serves food of superior standard with prompt service and Malay staff who can speak Mandarin!! Impressive. 4 Star restaurant food at 3 Star prices (Converted back to SG dollars, of course).

The masseur who attended to us gave us a massage that's out of this world. She's very dedicated and passionate in her job. Her name is "Mei Mei". Do look for her when you go to the Spa. Of course, we gave her a nice tip for her thoroughness and excellent strokes.

The resort has a few swimming pools spread over two locations and we were given a room at the 2nd floor where the cafe and swimming pool is within 3 mins walking distance. What more could we ask for? On a lazy afternoon, we just walked out of the room, placed order for 2 cups of latte at the Cafe and brought it back to the room to enjoy slowly.

Items at the gift shops are also very competitively priced.

Will return again for sure :)

P.S. We do not own a car and was initially hesitant about transportation to this Resort. But after we crossed the nicely renovated Malaysian CIQ/Checkpoint, we found it was a breeze. Just walk across to City Mall and wait at the taxi stand. Tell the Driver you'd like to go to Pulai Springs Resort (Show them the address) or tell them it's around UTM (some Malaysia Univerisyt) area. 25 mins later, you're there :)
