As I sit here, swinging in my hammock overlooking the ocean I am so glad I have found this hidden gem. A very quiet, hidden away little beach hotel with very friendly and helpful owners. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always happy to help. The only downside is the walk into the main area which is a bit of a concern after dark but the taxi is only 10 MYR. The morning stroll into town along the beach is beautiful and a nice way to start the day. The hotel is only very basic but is very clean, quiet and secluded. If you are after 5 star treatment this is not for you. But if you are looking for a quiet place to relax with no fuss, this is the place. Would highly recommend it and will definitely staying here during my next Langkawi visit.

The Senari is a lovely place in a good location but it has a few major failings.
When we arrived they had 'lost' our booking and we had to spend one night in another of the companies hotels in Cenang. The place we we're put wasn't as nice and they tried to charge us more than the market rate for the room. We had to argue to get the price down and they offered no compensation.

When we did arrive at Senari it was very nice. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The garden is well kept and pleasant and there whole area is very peaceful.
We rented a scooter to go in and out of town and booked our island hopping from reception. Both good quality and cheap.

That said....

The beach is separated from the garden by substantial metal cylinders presumably to prevent erosion, but are unsightly and frankly dangerous.

Two of 20 sun loungers can be used and only one of four hammocks isn't ruined.

Breakfast is left outside your room at 7:30 already cold.

It's a nice place and it's out of the chaos of Cenang, but needs some aesthetic work to be truly 'wow'. The people are nice and the island is beautiful, so still a very good place to stay.

I stayed here only one night. At first, I have make room reservations for two nights. Yet there is a contradiction reservations, our rooms have given to others. But the resort was booked another resort for us to stay a night. The owners are very friendly. Everything is nice about this resort. I really like the resort's surrounding. Rooms large and clean. Toilet very clean. Just a little bit problem, which is hard mattress. The aircond, tv and mini fridge works well. Fans are also provided in every room. Resort is very close to the beach. Beach water is not too clean but that is beyond the control of the resort. So we just have to accept the fact. Environment is very clean and quiet resort. Ideal for honeymooners. Everything was perfect at this resort. Quite frustrating not being able to stay here for two nights. I will definitely return to this resort.

This is a really peaceful and tranquil hotel with its own beach. We were put here during our yoga retreat and it was great. The staff are lovely, the place is spotless, and the setting is beautiful.

As a pointer, there is absolutely nothing to do around here but relax, it's not in the main part of Langkawi. So unless you're here to relax in a quiet environment on a quiet private beach, or unless you're on the 'Yoga Now' yoga retreat where they pick you up and drop you off, it may be best to stay somewhere more central, otherwise you'll always be paying for taxis to get food, or have a couple drinks somewhere.

If you go to Lamgkawi, the rustic charm of a basic, beach hotel, adds much to the experience. One such hotel is the Senari Bay Resort. Don't expect a 5-star hotel with all the amenities, rather enjoy the laid-back, relaxing holiday, in a quiet, serene location, but with the bustling beach resort a short walk away. The room and amenities were basic but adequate, my main complaint I would have was that the sun beds on the resort were the most uncomfortable I'd ever used. They are very old and tattered, and in dire need of being replaced.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a sea view.
