We stayed at the Temple Tree for the first week of our honeymoon, and what a way to start! This quirky, eccentric hotel is nothing short of spectacular. The houses have been beautifully restored with charming period furniture. As it was our honeymoon, we were promptly upgraded to a larger colonial suite with complimentary champagne. Nothing was to much problem by the staff who arranged a rental car and various trips around Langkawi for us. The restaurant at Bon Ton has outstanding food, and the best meals we had in Langkawi were at this restaurant. Ahhhh, the memory of sitting in the open air restaurant watching the sun set over the mangroves in the balmy breeze whilst sipping on a cocktail is making me nostelgic - I want to go back now!!
We fell in love with all the cats that have made Temple Tree their home, especially the ginger "Tinker" who seemed to be the chief cat of the Colonial House and certainly made himself at home in our Suite!
That fact I didn't want to leave and have thought about the place everyday since our return is an indication that this is truly a very, very special place.More
