This is a fine spot and of course, one probably sees the image of this place one thousand times perhaps, before even stepping foot in Langkawi. The spot itself is perhaps not much, the square pretty large and there are several souvenir shops selling the usual souvenirs such as tees, keychains and fridge magnets. The eagle is impressively proportioned and I liked the details on it. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly crowded with visitors.
Come sundown and the light was amazing. There was some cloud cover right above us but the horizon was very clear. As the sun went down, there were fantastic blues and reds all over the sky and very soon the magic was gone. I would therefore recommend visiting this place in the late afternoon on a clear day.
