i stayed there for 2 nights. do not expect more for the hotel. it is just like the city hotel, the room is small even i booked 3 superior room. the pools is small as well!
i think u can get a better room in langkawi with the price u pay here.
the beach is not near. the hotel located at the end/beginning of the street of pantai cenang. so, if u don't mind walking around..

We stayed here on 2nd Dec for 2 nights. Having been to Langkawi for 3 times, this hotel probably rated the lowest among the Langkawi hotels we had stayed. Building is new and it's a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach area and 15 minutes to the center of Cenang Beach. Check in and out was fast. I'm afraid, these are the only redeeming qualities I could find with this hotel.

Maybe we had a really loud neighbour or what, I could hear their TV programs and the sound of doors slamming in the corridor. There's no air con in the lobby area which is unacceptable in Malaysian weather. The swimming pool is a joke. It's small and it gets shallower to the other end. The deepest part is only 1.2 m. Yeah, we looked stupid swimming in it. It's totally exposed to sunlight from morning until late evening and the only time we could have swim is nighttime but it's close at night and became a smoking area! The breakfast is a joke. There's only fried rice, fried noodle, fried vermicelli (all lack of ingredients), some sausages, eggs and bread, all taste awful. The butter taste weird and they don't offer ketchup or chili sauce to cover their poor cooking. We're better off with McD breakfast.

Me and my wife visited Fave hotel in early 2012 on our honeymoon. Its walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants and supermarket. Depends on what you consider as walking distance.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy as. Counter helped us with booking of taxis and guided around the island for places to visit.
Room and bathroom inside were new and clean. Buffet breakfast was alright. Nothing special. I have had worst breakfasts so I was happy to start the day with full belly and no hassle. Lobby restaurant was good for drinks and coffee. Had a lunch once which was good enough.
Only thing that could be better for me was the Swimming pool. It was not deep and long enough. Wife loved it as the way it was.

First the positives. It has a nice location, walking distance to the beach, and to the Cenang main street. The hotel is new, and the wifi was ok.

The negatives...

There are no wardrobe in the room (just a small shelf and a few hangers), wich is just stupid since people come here to stay for 7 days++.

The staff on this hotel is not very good. We asked then for a childrens pillow, and they told us they would bring it to our room. Hours later and no pillow, I walked down to check, only to be told that they didn´t have it after all. Later we asked for towels by the pool, once again they told us they would bring it to us, 30 mins later I had to go dripping into the reception just to be told that all the towels where at laundry still. How hard is it to give a message?

The reception staff is like other say here no apolegetic. They couldn´t supply us a baby cot, or give us a king bed as requested. They didn´t seem to care at all. The same when we wanted to leave this hotel for another one, the girl at the reception was just like robot quoting the rules they had.

Cleaning is mediocre. I do not belive they changed bed sheets for us at all, cause the "new" ones where wrinkly and had stains. One day the floor in the room had poddles with water as well, guess they are in a rush when they "clean".

The pool could be fantastic, but it isn´t. First they don´t have any rules, or...they don´t enforce the rules they have. Anyone can jump in the pool wearing whatever they like, and no one bothers to shower first. Also babies are allowed to swim without swimming diapers. The pool it self is useless for swimming since max depth is 60 cm in one end and 1,20 in the other.

Breakfast is ok, but there are long lines for eggs and the toaster, and refilling items goes very slowly. I had to wait for 20 mins one morning because everything was emtpy. Also people are allowed to smoke at breakfast since it´s an open air "restaurant", not very cool when you travel with kids.

After 4 days on this hotel we had enough, and demanded them to let us check out early (we where supposed to stay for 12 days) so we could find another hotel. After talking to deaf ears to the reception staff we demanded to talk to a supervisor. This did the trick, and we talked to a nice lady that took notes of our complaints, and refunded the rest so we could find another hotel. We ended up at the Aseania next door, wich was great compared to favehotel.

The hotel is quite good, the room are small and cozy, but they aren't enough towels, if you need a toothbrush or anything you have to go down and purchase them, no iron in the room and we had to call the reception to get one.
The breakfast buffet choices was limited, and the tourist information wasn't that helpful we kept asking her to rent a car and she didn't give us details and she kept saying that she will look so we had to rent a car from an office outside the hotel.
The hotel location is good a walking distance to the beach, restraints and supermarket.
Overall it was fine.

We booked the hotel 6 months in advance and selected a large room with a large bed. Upon arrival was given a small room.
Complained about it, but staff were sure we had the right room. They said that the room names had been changed. And that all rooms varied in size. Couldn't even give us a large bed - only two single beds.

Room itself is basic, but floors are dirty. Dirty towel was given to us - see picture. Shower gel dispenser had diluted gel. Shower itself was ok, at least it was hot.

Not much else in the room except for the tv. Has one English movie channel and one kids movie channel (played chicken little on a loop 24 hours for both days we were there)

Reception staff were not very friendly (seemed to huddle together for discussions a lot). However bar staff and breakfast staff were very friendly.

Fairly close to the beach (5-10 minutes walk) and is on the Main Street.

It's a fairly new hotel which has a lot of potential but seems to be spoilt due to lack of attention to detail, cleanliness and some common courtesy.

Positive: The faveHotel is very new, with bright, modern fittings and a clean feel to it. The rooms are a reasonable size and the beds comfortable with nice linen (light duvets). It has a lovely large pool and surrounding area which is very nice to hang out at, although the pool is too shallow for any serious swimming. The restaurant / bar area is also very pleasant with a reasonable menu and reasonable prices, and a good drink selection, as well as half price happy hours from 5-7 pm. The location, while on the map looks a little inconvenient, is fine, an easy ten minute walk to the quiet Pantai Tengah Beach and not much further to the bustling cafe and retail main street of Cenang, with nearby Pantai Cenang beach. There are also some cheap and cheerful eating places immediately outside the hotel if you can't be bothered walking to Cenang. Many of the staff are friendly.
Negative: We had a rocky start being booked into a twin room rather than a double, with the reception staff unapologetic. The reception staff were pretty hopeless throughout our stay, as opposed to many other staff who couldn't do enough for you. Note - room 100 is a very small twin room and the bathroom window is not mirrored, allowing everybody in the upper floors to gaze in on your shower! Don't accept this room. The staff on the tourist desk, which was externally advertised as an information point, were pretty hopeless with a minimal knowledge of the products they were selling, and we ended up dealing with tour providers directly (local calls are free from the hotel room, which was great!) The rooms had no shelves or drawers for storage so we had to live out of our suitcases, which was unusual for a hotel in a location where you would consider staying for several days. The standard of house keeping was very low, and the place is starting to look grubby already, which is unfortunate as in a few years this place will look shabby. Note for less mobile persons - this hotel is a good 500 - 750 metres from the beach and Cenang shops, and the pavements are pretty ropey. Overall this was a very nice hotel to stay at for a holiday, in a good location, and we would certainly consider coming back. We thought it would be a fun place to come with a group of friends, as the pool / cafe area is very appealing, and the location is perfect for eating out and arranging day tours.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 100 - other rooms look into bathroom window which is NOT reflectorised.
