For a short getaway, Westin's facilities just blew us away. We actually spent our entire time in the hotel RELAXING!. Great service by the front line associates, never fail to wear a smile on their face. Hassle free check in to our room. Room is very spacious and clean. Infinity pool was great and the bar next to the pool adds a touch to it. Guests are able to relax in the pool sipping the cocktails under the hot weather. The Breeze bar also have an awesome view which is facing the sea. Hotel breakfast was food though I feel that there could be more selection.

The two things I have comments on is:

1.The grey door that is next to the reception leading to the hotel rooms. As the door opens outwards (if you are heading to the lobby from your room), one will never know who is coming through that door and there is a high chance of having the door slamming right at your face.

2. When checking out, was informed that there is a Westin lounge at the airport which guest can get to enjoy. However, we were declined access by the custom officers as the lounge is located at the domestic gate (we are departing through the international gate and its only segregated by a glass door!). I now wonder why there is a need for the lounge if guests are unable to access it.

It is a great pleasure to know that you had a comfortable and pleasant stay in our newly rejuvenated room also our infinity pool offers magnificent views of the Andaman Sea. Concerning your comments for the grey door next to our reception counter we have taken note for any future upgrades. The Westin lounge is located in the domestic part of the airport meaning all flight to Kuala Lumpur will have these facilities available. We look forward to welcoming you for another rejuvenating holiday.

Be well,
MS

Our son stayed here a year ago and had a great time. We came by train and ferry to Langkawi (not the usual route but fun) and were tired on arrival. The check in staff were very helpful and got us to our room as early as possible. There was a problem with the booking details but the reception staff managed it very professionally. The hotel has the most beautiful setting overlooking the islands. All amenities are truly 5 star...bars, restaurants, pools, gardens, spa. Prices are also 5 star so expect to pay a little more. Had a wonderful stay and will be back!

Room Tip: We got an upgrade for staying more than 5 days.

We had a really wonderful break at the Westin Langkawi with our children - excellent breakfasts, really top notch; stunning pools, including lots of variety for the kids; lovely rooms and a beautiful setting. The spa was really outstanding for a massage on our last night - just a bit of a shame I couldn't enjoy it with my husband due to the daft rule about in-room babysitting being for children aged 4 plus (our youngest is 3). The location is really convenient to the port, but tucked away in a beautiful setting and it is very easy to get a cab around the island on trips. We all loved the Mangrove Tour and boat trip. The beach was the only slight disappointment as the water didn't look as appealing as i'd hoped, so we stayed in the pool but this was really no hardship at all. The restaurant food also bizarrely lacked options for a light supper - some more local dishes and better salads could definitely have been on offer (and some of the ones we tried could have been improved). Alas we didn't make the poolside barbeques as they started around kids bedtime (and they were apparently too young to leave...) These looked great. Definitely get a deal including breakfast - it was fantastic and the kids LOVED the Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. Credit to the staff who were unfailingly polite throughout our stay. If this review sounds a bit critical in parts - it is not intended as such. This is a really excellent place to stay and I would very happily go back, and recommend it to others. A few improvements and it just could be even better.

Dear Viv S,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We always proud to agree on the beauty of the resort, spectacular location, unique pools and also happy to hear that our daily SuperFoodsRx buffet breakfast exceeded your expectation. We truly sorry that we have let you down with regards to the beach. Our beach is not as good as the beach in the North of Langkawi, as we were unfortunately not blessed with the best on the island. Appreciate you bringing up the shortcomings you have encountered in regards to restaurant food to our attention as this will only assist in improving towards service excellence. Rest assured that we take your comment seriously and will review them with our team to make necessary improvements. We hope to welcome you again for another relaxing stay in the near future.

Be well,
MS

We spent two nights at the Westin Resort Langkawi before an energetic week of sailing around the island.

The hotel is conveniently situated for the marina and ferries. We arrived late evening and the reception was welcoming and appropriate. Although too late for formal dining there were a range of snacks available in the bar.

The resort itself is very well laid out, with a large conventional pool and other smaller pools providing a haven for children. The beach is less impressive at this resort. The hotel manages to cater well for couples and families, with plenty of room to have 'one's space'!

We didn't join the poolside barbecue, but we did take advantage of the beach side restaurant (twice) that was excellent - serving a range of local and international cuisine at reasonable prices.

The bedrooms were very well appointed, very clean and comfortable. I really wish though that hotel chains like Westin provide free Wi-Fi in rooms. It is free in the lobby area, but these days provision should be ubiquitous - add a slight supplement to the cost of the room!

Breakfast buffet really excellent - the availability of fizz in the morning is for me an essential touch that differentiates many five star hotels.

Special mention has to be made of the staff - amazingly some would address you by name - even when crossing paths in town. The standard of service was exceptional.

Take advantage of the hotel-airport transfer service, it is competitively priced and well worth it.

Room Tip: Join the SPG programme - plus 15% off food! Villas also available.

Stayded there with my Mom and Sis, March 19 - March 27, 2014. Beautiful place, beautiful view. Pool needs no comments... Incredible!
We were really touched by flying squirrels at night. While having dinner at the hotel restaurant Tide, you can see them jumping from one palm tree to another. Amazing! And the food is great. Special thanks to Hasneiza Saad and new chineese manager (forgot the name, sorry:().
Also monkey's family jumping in front of our room. Feels like you are very close to the Nature)
Very nice-Nice breakfast with a glass of champagne what was quite extraordinary for me.
Everything would be perfect if one day the Spa would not disappoint us. It needs to fix the problems with explanation of the treatment (not the language). But just explain what kind of treatment you are about to do, STEP BY STEP! please
Beach wants to be better as well:/ Dirty
But in general the trip's worth every penny! Thank you very much Westin Langkawi, hope to see you again!...
