Some great points (beach, location, rooms some staff) but some desperately poor service on occasion. Waiting 35 mins for a drink menu isn't acceptable but majority of staff were great. Just a few let it down for the price. The public areas are dated and in need of a return! But rooms seem to have benn refurbished a d are great. I'd recommend requesting a room close to the main reception to avoid constantly waiting for a buggy transfer. Thai restaurant was amazing for a special occasion

We stayed at Berjaya for 4 nights. It is a great property and well worth the money. The service is excellent and property is well maintained. Some pros:
* Location - Amazing location with sea on one side and mountains on other. The private beach though small is clean. The pool was great. The villas by the sea close to the Thai restaurant are amazing!
* Service - The service is great! We had heard about the problems with the shuttle but did not face any. Max time to reach reception from our chalet never crossed 10 mins. In all the staff is helpful and cheerful.
* Very close to cable car which was pretty good attraction
* If you are on honeymoon or looking for peaceful stay then this place will suit you.

Apart from this:
* Room (Rainforest Chalet) though not luxurious was comfortable
* We faced some issues with changing room as there was some communication gap at the reception. This if sorted out could have saved some time.
* Food was ok as we had limited choices being vegetarians. The prices in restaurants however was reasonable inspite of being a 5 star hotel.

Things to keep in mind:
* This place has almost nothing close by. The Oriental Village or Cable car is walking distance but all the shops close by 7 pm! Perdana Quay is a small complex around 2 kms away. That is it! So if you wish to venture out and check out action at locations like Cenang, it is best to rent a car/bike the moment you land at the airport (~60 MYR per day for a small car). Or else you will pay nearly double if you rent one at the hotel (~120 MYR). Take my word you will love it if you have a car to go around
* If you had kids and want to avoid using shuttle, book chalets close to 3150 or 2130 as they are walking distance from reception or pool
* Go for sea facing rooms, they are great!

Room Tip: * If you had kids and want to avoid using shuttle, book chalets close to 3150 or 2130 as they are walking distance from reception or pool * Go for sea facing rooms, they are great! * Rent a car - it will be very convenient if you are at Berjaya

We stayed in rainforest chalets for 3 nights with friends and family, found naughty monkeys at the chalet balcony everday which was funny. We rented a car from outside and it is not difficult driving to any places for enjoying seafood but hotel restaruant is also a good choice.

We stayed here for 2 nights(wanted to stay for 2 more) and the experience was one of the best. We had requested for early checkin and the reception graciously obliged us. We were 2 families travelling together and we were given nearby cottages as requested. Its close to the oriental village n cable car. Its way away from the main city, so preferably rent a car from the airport, since car rental at the hotel is not the best deal. The swimming pool is beautiful and we tried out some water sports at the beach house too. The inhouse Pahn thai restaurant is good and a must visit purely for its location. Will definitely come once again.

We stayed here for 9 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I booked a rainforest chalet and the room we got was perfect - within 5 minutes walk to the restaurants and a fantastic view of the sea through the trees. There is a lot of nature in the resort. We saw dusky leaf monkeys everyday at various different spots on our way to breakfast EVERY DAY! We spotted hornbills and macaques too.

We went on the evening walk around the resort and saw lots of flying lemurs. -the only downside was that during the walk there are lots of shuttle buses and motor bikes going back and forth which is quite annoying when you are trying to spot nature and listen to a guide. And why don't they look to use quiet electric vehicles as the ones they use spoils the ambience of the resort for people coming here to relax.

We ate at the hotel a lot more than originally planned as we didn't want to take a cab journey every evening for something to eat - the food at the Dayang café was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced as we dined at times when a discount was offered so it worked out quite cheap for us. We didn't have breakfast included in our rate but we were given a discount of 20% if we chose to have the buffet breakfast! Most of the time we had a la carte and that worked out a bit cheaper again.

The natural surroundings of this hotel is what made it so special - its absolutely breath taking! Other reviews have mentioned litter in the sea but we did not see any. The sea temperature is lovely and is great for a swim. The beach is beautiful with powdery white sand - go down around sun set too as its pretty stunning.

Many reviews have said that the staff are quite rude but we did not find this was the case at all!!! Every staff member was so polite and welcoming and friendly. The staff at the activities desk were really good at sorting out our day trips - one of the companies cancelled on us and they quickly booked us with another company.

We really loved it here and for a resort of this size, the staff seem to run a pretty tight ship as everywhere is clean and well maintained. I was a bit apprehensive about staying in such a large resort as the hotels we have stayed at before in S.E Asia have been a lot smaller. But honestly this didn't effect our experience here at all. It didn't even feel like there were that many guests there but apparently they were fully booked when I asked to extend our check out time!! What else can I say that hasn't been said already?!
