Booked a Family Suite + Superior Room. We booked for airport transfer as well to reduce the hassle, and it took around 15-20 mins to reached the resort.

Check-In: Was a bit too long. Despite emailing in advance regarding our special request on chalet locations, we didn't get the rooms near to the main lobby and closely to each other.

Rooms:
Family Chalet- Both of the rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms are clean and big.
Not much of a view as we are located in the Rainforest area. As there are mosquitoes, spray and electric repellent are provided in rooms.
Superior- Located slightly nearer to the beach front, nice view and room are much more spacious with balcony facing the sea.

Dining:
We had our lunch at the Dayang Restaurant, the food were reasonable that comes with huge quantity and good quality as well. The service were excellent, the only negative of it is that there's flies around the area. Maybe it depends on your tables cos we didn't have any issue with it when we had our breakfast the next day with a different sitting area. Would RECOMMEND anyone staying at Berjaya to try dining and catching the sunset at Pahn Thai Restaurant at least once. It is located right at the end of the resort and the scenery is spectacular. Food are fine, not really top but it's worth the experience. Must book in advance as they have limited seats.

Pool/Beach: The private beach are beautiful, there's water sports available too. The pool is very nice and clean but a bit too crowded most of the time.

Attractions: The cable car is a MUST TRY. The scenery right at the top is awesome. The hotel have a free shuttle to the Oriental Village where you can find alot of souvenirs stores and activities like the cable car and 'duck tours'. For some who loves mesuems, you can venture out from the resort and go to Mahsuri Museum (Makam Mahsuri) and Perdana Gallery.

Check-Out: Smooth and fast. (Maybe due to our morning flight and the first one to check-out from the resort.) Airport transfer was fast as well.

Overall: We enjoyed the vacations, both my senior citizens parents loves it so much. I would personally recommend this to family who have kids and couples who simple just want to chill by the beach and relax. A good resort for de-stress and get away from the concretes walls.

Room Tip: Those who have issues with mosquitoes and bugs, I would recommend for you to request for chalet nearer to the beach or fork up more $$ to get yourself a wonderful suite by the beach/sea, with the beautiful scenery.

It is huge hotel complex in great location, with his own privat beach. Hotel has many bungalows inseide of jungle. We stayed in bungalow up in hill, on last raw of bungalows, totaly inside jungle. It was luxury in jungle. Great experience. Room was big, luxury, great bathroom, with own little terrace. Very private, with everyday monkeys coming to us. It was great.

We found bungalows inseide jungle much better than one on sea front. They look boring, so take these in jungle. There is free shatlle from your room to reception...or you can walk 10-15 minutes to reception or bean or restaurants

Room Tip: take the bungalows inseide jungle..last raw, it is much more private.

Our family loved the two interconnected Rainforest Chalet rooms. Of course we would have loved one of the over-water chalets, but the rainforest chalet proved to be a great value to experience the resort.
It appears by the other reviews that people either love or hate the fact that buggies take you to and from your chalet. By our experience the buggies were very responsive & quick, and they added to the resort's unique environment. Each time we called for a buggy when leaving the room, one arrived within 1-5 minutes, including at 6:00am they day we left for the airport.
We tried all of the restaurants. Each one was fine. Our favorite was the Thai restaurant over the water. We ate dinner there twice, both times we had terrific meals and spectacular sunsets.
The beach was clean, and had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The pool was clean, but showed some age.
Overall a great resort to stay for 4-5 days and have a quiet holiday, or stay longer and take some excursions around Langkawi.

We stayed for 3 nights at the resort in May. While the resort is huge with decent rooms and a private sandy beach, the levels of service in the resort were purely pathetic. They seem to have built their model on volume rather than any quality of experience.

Firstly, their buggy model of travel has the worst sort of people working on it. We had a sleeping 4 year old when we finished dinner at 10pm, but they refused to get the buggy close to the beach restaurant, which was on the way to our waterfront room btw, and made us carry the poor kid about 500 mts to the main lobby. And in the lobby, the man managing the service had the audacity to point to the rules board that apparently says buggies only start from the lobby (whereas the board clearly said it it was from one location to another).

Another time, after asking to be dropped at the beach, the driver drove us to the lobby and the attendant was downright rude to us when we said we wanted to go to the beach, pointing in the direction of the beach and asking us to start walking. He actually turned away from us when we were still talking to him and started loading the next set of people. We complained to the 'manager' who with a 'sad' face nodded and walked away after listening to our complaint with no indication of what he was going to do!

Going beyond the buggies, the food in the main restaurant was a shocker. Breakfast was barely passable and lunch was a disaster! The Thai restaurant was very good, but that's just about it. We finally ended up spending 30-40 minutes driving out to other places in Langkawi to have our meals!

We realized that there are several places several times better than this resort which are probably well worth the small incremental one would have to pay.. Danna (a resort 5 minutes away) being a perfect example.

This is one resort that I'm never going to set foot in again!

We stayed in one of the overwater presidential suites as we have 2 small (aged 3 & 4)children that we wanted in a separate bedroom/a bit more space than the usual resort type accom. We also wanted to get to a hot location as it is pretty cold in Sydney at present. I will try and give the pro's and cons of the resort as objectively as I can about the resort and the suite.

We were collected by air-conditioned minivan at the airport - was clean and spacious and very cool. The trip took about 20 mins.
The check in was relatively painless but per the times given, the room wasn't ready for about half an hour - this was fine as our bags were taken care of and we went and had a cool drink while we waited/looked round the resort near the reception area.

When our suite was ready we were driven by open air buggy which the kids really loved.
First impression was that it was a little tired. The furniture was in good order but you could see the place had been well loved. The bathrooms had marble floor/wall tiles which were very clean but fairly tired too. The bed was king sized (in the master) and again the coverings/furniture were in good nick.
The suite was extremely spacious, was set out over the water with the neighbouring suites being quite a reasonable distance to ours. Privacy was guaranteed. Getting to and from the reception area was by random buggy. We only had one time (unfortunately when we were in a rush to check out) where we had to wait for a lengthy period. Unfortunately it would have been more convenient to be positioned in a suite closer to the reception but the kids loved the buggy so what can I say??

The Pool area was great - plenty of space/shallow areas for the kids to spend hours having fun.

Our favourite spot was on the beach (which was very clean and exclusively for Berjaya Guests)under one of the umbrellas/exploring up the beach or again by the pool. Drinks at the pool bar were cheap at around 20RM for a cocktail and 42RM for a jug of Carlsberg. Swim up bar was a novelty - especially for the kids.

The restaurants were all pretty good although we didn't really like the buffet at the main restaurant given it is mass produced - that said it was still of a very good standard. Breakfast was good although somewhat limited in its offering.

Other things we liked were the monkeys & squirrels getting around the resort and the cable car which is a 2 min drive on one of the resort buggy's. Other than that it was a great holiday - 1 week felt like 2. Great Holiday!1
