The first astonishing view about Berjaya is when you look from Google maps and you see the rooms scattered inside the forest. We didn’t have that courage, so we selected our premier chalet which is perfectly located between the forest and sea view. From your private terrace, the top of the trees and banana palms are within your hands. One day, we’ve seen a monkey just passing by our terrace. Hotel notes of keeping windows and doors tight should be followed. Not to say about those monkeys trying to steal from the beach restaurant, or the 1 meter lizards crossing the street freely, or the hornbills and squirrels jumping between trees branches, If you love nature that’s your place. I forgot, early in the morning if you are walking by the beach beware of the tiny colorless crabs under your toes.
If we speak about Berjaya, It is perfectly distributed between villas inside the sea and chalets deep high in the forest. Each restaurant is an experience, you need to try them all. What is common between restaurants are the variety of selections, the high quality of food and the perfect charming service. The Thai one in the middle of the sea is the most amazing one.
The internal shuttle is very helpful and most of the time available when needed.
The SPA is perfectly located and service is great.
The Oriental village including cable car, 6D cinema, Elephant ride, Feeding fish, duck ride are just few minutes by the Berjaya shuttle which is an added value.
The mangrove walk and guide are just perfect

Room Tip: Premier chalet has the perfect match between forest and sea.

Nice place, location is very suitable, but generally average considering its price,
Cleanliness is an issue, room, sheets, towels was all dirty on first day, got better after raising it up with reception.
Food is just fine, all the facilities are getting old and obviously beed a lot of maintenance,
Staff are helpful in general but not as welcoming as you would expect,
Shuttle buses are old with no safety measures but this is a problem with other resorts as well, sometimes had to wait too long to het a pick up.

I want to start with all the positives. Fantastic staff, always there to help ,even if sometimes the language barrier is an issue, friendly and informative in all areas of the hotel. Great location, only about 20 mins from the airport. We had a single room (3751) ,which was clean, minimalistic, with a great location ,about 5 mins from the reception area. The gardens and pool areas are well kept , clean and pretty much spotless. The beach area is very good ,clean near the resort but a little dirtier towards the very south of the beach, which is such a shame . The resteraunts we tried , were all very good, Fish night on Wed was sublime, the staff sometimes seeming a little confused ,but mostly very helpful and charming. The bar area at the main building was one of our favourite areas, nice and clean , the bar staff must get a special mention, MUNI, was a great host, and ADY, the ever glass filling barman, to name but a few of the fantastic bar staff, sorry ,cant remember all of their names ,but all were more than ready and willing. Entertainment from SYED and his band made for a great nights entertainment, but a better area is needed due to music loudness effecting public areas .* Only a few negatives though. The sports bar has great potential but is wasted as a dark unwelcome room with a few games and some TV's. The beach bar is also a BIG let down. Not much atmosphere, old ,dated, and again a little unwelcome, it should be an absolute draw , to have some cocktails on the beach with the views available. Spend some money on these areas to bring them up to date !!!! This should be a 5* but is more like 3*. Finally I would return, in a few years time and hopefully, the management have gone there with a big paint brush and freshened the place up.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near reception, personally ,I would not have the chalet on stilts as you get no access to the sea !!!! but the views are great
