We have two teenage boys so were really happy with Premier chalets on land that connected. Our outlook was superb and we were surrounded by trees. Don't forget to keep looking up as you will see hornbills, gliding lemurs and at least two specises of monkeys....and that is on the way to breakfast! SO fantastic! Very friendly staff who were eager to please. Rooms lovely, brekky great and, we loved the fact that it was a little away from some places as that was what made it so special. DO take the Sunday night or Wed night nature walk (you will be thrilled) it is free and you will learn so much from Dev or one of his colleagues.Someone complained about having to wait for a suttle to breakfast....ever heard of leg power? Try walking, it is a way to really absorb the feel of the place. Would go again tomorrow and we all miss the smiles and the simple kindness of all the people.

I booked this hotel through Agoda.com at the recommendation of a friend and was assured a great time. This stay totally exceeded my expectations. We rented a car our second day there and proceeded to tour the Island solo, very easily done in under 2 hours with stops. The laziness and calm in the island is felt at every stop we made.
The Alligator Farm is a little disturbing (with handicapped alligators and a sign saying "buy alligtor skin products to save the alligators") I'd skip it,unle syou really want to see some guy insert his hand in an alligator mouth.
The craft mall was great, beautful items and a small but interesting museum attached.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional, remembering our names and requests and providing us with everything we asked for.
The beach was large and spotless, the restaurant options were great.
This is a hotel that I will be coming back to again and again...
Request the premier Villa...it is new and great. I didn't want the "rustic" experience as is had in the older higher level cabins. They have wood chairs and chaise lounges on the patio perfect for drinking a botle of wine and relaxing with a book.

Approaching the resort with our taxi winding its way along the sunny coast, via the palm trees, the natural greenery, and sunny clear blue sky with sandy beaches, we could feel that this resort was a great choice made by us.

We arrived after 20 minutes taxi ride, into a beautifully manicured resort: nestling at the base of the tropical forest with a mountain backdrop and the view of the open seas. We looked around in amazement - the beautifully carved wooden hotel lobby, the clean beautifully aligned pathways, the carefully trimmed grass and vegetation, the symmetrical palm trees, the colourful flowers, the singing of tropical birds, the sound of the sea breeze, the clear blue sky - it was all too perfect!

We had booked an Executive Suite on Water. And the extremely friendly staff, forever smiling and always at hand, had everything ready for us, like clock work. After the complimentary refreshment drink, and smooth check-in, we boarded the shuttle car and within 1 minute we arrived at out Chalet on Water - very close to the lobby, about 3 mins walks which I preferred. Other chalets are further down, but I would say no more that 10/12 mins walk - shouldn't be an issue if you enjoy walking in a natural setting and walking past beautiful wildlife. Plus the shuttle service arrives very frequently and can be requested specifically when needed.

We walked up the wooden pathway up to our door. Inside the chalet was beautifully decorated, clean and tidy, with traditional Malay theme, but with all the mod- cons : lounge, TV, air con, separate large clean tiled bathroom, kitchen area, fridge, separate additional tiled toilet and beautiful wooden balcony overlooking the ocean and distant tropical islands and clear blue sky. We sat on the large balcony and absorbed the views.

Breakfast, is good, but could they could have offered more selection as I have stayed four nights prior in kuala lumpur at a 5* Hotel where the food quality and variety was excellent. Having said that, the setting of the breakfast area compensates for the shortfalls - the traditional hut theme with ocean views, golden sand and blue sky and ocean breeze, felt great. Something like out of a movie!

Location is not central, which is the only drawback for this resort. However, for honeymooners this location is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy city centres. Kuah Town is the main centre for shopping but that is quite far out, maybe 45 mins drive. Its worth the trip there if you want to do some shopping or want some for of sailing trips as the port is also there.

Cenang Beach, 15 mins taxi ride is a very nice place for eating often and shopping. Here you'll find the long stretch of road - adjacent to the beach - full of shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. I eat there frequently. I also eat at a traditional restaurant in a secluded spot by the beach, very near the resort - opposite to the horse riding location. Beautiful local food.

Taxi is the easier way to get around. But hiring a car is even better. It's cheap and gives you flexibility, and the roads are easy to navigate as they drive on the left of the road like here in the UK. If you get a map of the island, it will show all the tourist hot spots, and you'll be surprised and the amount places you can visit.

There are many water activities on the resort itself and nearby cable cars, horse riding and mountain trekking up to the Seven Wells should keep you busy for first day or two.
Other activities can be arranged for example, Pulau Payar Island for scuba diving and snorkelling is a must - a full days outing. I would recommend that you go to bustling shopping and dining centre - "Cenang Beach" - short taxi ride and compare prices for day activities - you'll be surprised at how cheap it is compared to booking via the hotel.

Drawbacks :
The main draw back is the location - but more expensive hotels are even more further out and isolated you'll find. But 15 mins taxi from restaurants and shopping.

Breakfast, compared to others, falls a little shy. But restaurant setting compensates.

Beach does not have the best clear water. Slightly murky, perhaps the time of the year, as has been reported, during monsoon season, the sea waters are not very clear. Still, nearby beaches do have clearer blue waters.

Overall, a very well maintained resort, with extremely friendly staff, in a beautiful natural setting, with wonderful backdrops and views across the oceans from the balconies of traditionally themed water chalets. A great treat, a fantastic getaway.

My Tip : always go to shopping "centres" - e.g. Cenang Beach and compare price before buying any activities. Do not always buy at the hotel in first the instance.

Arrived at midday and waited 4hrs for room to be ready. Room safe did not work. To get around the resort you have to wait up to 30 minutes for the golf buggy to take you. e.g for breakfast and dinner peak people ferrying times. The pool was fantastic, kids loved the waterfall but most of the hotel communal areas, lobby, lobby bar, pool restaurant and beach restaurant had no walls and was outside - no air conditioning and lots of mosquitos. Yes it had the 5 star turn down service with a chocolate left on your pillow but this was the only resemblance to ant.ything 5 star. With younger children it is too hot and far to walk them around in order to avoid waiting for the golfbuggy. Most couples we saw just walked to avoid waiting for the buggy. Pool is at bottom of resort and golf buggy service is at top of resort about 100metre walk up several flights of stairs not a practical layout for children under 10. This would be a good place for honeymooners.

We booked a deluxe room and on arrival they upgraded to a premier chalet, in sea, the chalet had wonderful view of sea and other side is green mountains. The environment is filled with nature, Nature lovers would love this hotel. Beach is not that great, however good for swimming, as there are no waves. Hotel is in a secluded area, close to cable car and seven wells waterfalls. Must see attractions in langkawi. I would recommend this hotel for nature lovers, and for people seeking for a peaceful holiday.

Stayed here from 28 Sept to 1 Oct,after reading almost all the reviews here,i was quite worried, but seriously if you want to relax and have a nice time,Berjaya could be the place for you. We were booked for a superior room but upon check in we requested for a deluxe room as it came with a safe,i'm assuming that the superior rooms don't. Most of the deluxe rooms come with a partial sea view. we got a nice clean room with a king sized bed. yes,the floors were creaky but what do you expect with wood? The bathrooms were small but clean. Overall the rooms were fine. Food for me was not that good, they could improve on serving better quality food. Extensive menus but bland food.Internet room available but for a fee,wi -fi also for a fee, hotel would be able to attract more guests with free internet access. It's these little things that matter.
Staff were friendly and always polite.
Loved the beach, waves are very strong but otherwise it's a clean and sandy beach.
Saw a few monkeys, flying lemurs and hornbills!
Didn't venture out much, just lazed around, but totally enjoyed the stay!
Stay here if you want something different.Don't go here expecting high end services, just relax and enjoy! If u ask me,it's totally worth it!
