Review of D'Grill

D'Grill
Ranked #324 of 426 Restaurants in Langkawi
Description: This is a restaraunt of Sandy Beach hotel. It was recently renamed, restyled and management changed. It became my favorite dining location in Pantai Cenang and it isn't listed in Tripadvisor. Staff here ever wear uniform with logo and in one design, which is not common here. Unfortunately, there's no usual addressing system in Langkawi, but I can upload iPhone pictures with exact GPS location or it can be linked to the beach in front of Sandy Beach.

“Don't do it”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

The only thing this place has going for it is it's position on the beach. We found this place walking along the beach one night and thought it looked like a nice place for dinner. Boy were we wrong. We ordered butter king prawns and whole fish in soy. The prawns were totally tasteless and the fish was deep fried! Needless to say there was not a lot of meat left on the fish after this process. Both prawns and fish were priced per 100g ... we left the place feeling hungry and ripped off. This was one of the most expensive places we ate at in Langkawi and was by far the worst.

“What a find!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

If you like seafood, this is the place to go. In fact, all their food was great and so very very cheap. We eat there on three occasions and each meal was brilliant. BBQ food their specialty.

“Don't bother with this place”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

I strongly recommend not eating at this place. I contracted typhoid following an uninspiring tom yum a couple of weeks ago and spent a couple of nights in hospital on some pretty strong antibiotics a few nights later. The wait staff certainly made you wait, and seemed to treat all the customers with contempt. Pretty cheap food, but I suppose you get what you pay for. If I had my time again I would have read the reviews on this site - they're pretty spot on. Pretty disappointing given its location on the beach and its potential for being a great spot to eat and drink.

“Decent food, terrible staff”
Reviewed 25 February 2013 via mobile

We ordered the larged mixed tom yam and cenang fried rice, 16 and 7 rmb respectively. Good prices and pretty happy with the food. Service, total staff really, was terrible. To explain the atmosphere, a handful of customers and three times as many staff in the kitchen and grills on the beach. No one spoke to us when we walked around, got our own menus, waited too long to ask for our order, food was not too slow but never another glance from staff. They were preoccupied with their own conversations, didnt try to conceal their disregard for us with loud chats, laughter, smoking nearby, even a nice loud belch as one staff guy walked by,haha, they couldnt be any clearer that they didnt want us there!

Go to Raffis on the beach, a little more expensive but they are great!

“Menu and food received unrelatable.”
Reviewed 1 January 2013

Menu pictures did not look in any way like the actual thing, were low on stock on many meals. Most meals ordered were incomplete in comparison to the description on the menu. All 10 of us received meals at different times and the last meal came after an hour and a half just when we were about to leave. The food itself was mediocre at best.
