we stayed here one week and enjoyed it! We loved the fact that they are eco-friendly and try to do everything to keep it that way! You should absolutely join their eco-tour when you're there, since there is so much to learn and see in their garden and about their facilities.
We stayed in a garden-view villa, which was great, since there were no neighbours and we had lots of privacy. The villa is quite big and stylish decorated with lots of wood, very beautiful! The bathroom was very old, we expected something better, but since there is an outside shower, for us that compensated for the old bathroom :-)The towels however were so thin; they should be replaced I think.

Everyday the room was cleaned; the bed was huge and there was a fridge, all very convenient.
Something not so convenient is that there are lots of mosquito's and the windows do not have things in them to prevent them from coming in, so you can definitely not open your window, unless you want to be eaten alive. Around the 2 pools there are sunbeds, but you need to get up early to put your towel on one because at our 1st day they were all taken by 9 am!
There is no jellyfish-net (like in Australia everywhere where there can be jellyfish) and also no vinegar at the beach, so I do not think the are taking care of that properly. We therefore did not swim in the sea, but the saltwater pool is nice.
The breakfast was delicious; a real treat every morning. And the staff was very kind. We arrived early in the morning and were given a early check-in free of charge! The resort is close to the village, which is convenient.

Room Tip: the sea-view villa's are right in front of the sunbed area, so no privacy at all.

Dear Catharina K,

Thank you for your kind comments about our resort. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us.

I will pass your comments on the linen to our head housekeeper, she will look into it accordingly.
Regarding your concern about the lack of sunbeds around the pool area, we try not to put too many loungers there so that guests can enjoy the view of the beach and the sea. However, there are many sun loungers dotting our 400 metre stretch of beach among the coconut trees. Guests have the option of sunning there as well – it is a good option for those who want some shade from the sun to have a nap or read a good book. Or one can drag it onto the beach to sun tan.

Regarding your concerns about the jellyfish, they are seasonal to the island and we do put up flags to warn other guests when it is not safe to swim. Vinegar is also stocked at both towel kiosks at both swimming pools as well as the bar.

We are happy that you enjoyed our salt water pool, located at the furthest end of the resort away from the main pool, Jacuzzi and restaurant. Our guests who prefer a more quiet area to swim and relax tend to use it more. We are also glad you are happy with our service staff, as they are the backbone of our resort. I will pass your compliments on breakfast to our executive chef during our daily morning briefing.

Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback on your stay with us. We will use them to enhance our service for future guests.

I stayed in this resort for 2 nights in February. Here are some quick review points

1) Check-in and Check-out - Smooth
2) Restaurant - Nice with a good sea view
3) Beach area - Very nice. Though, if you plan to do sea sports like para sailing and jet ski. Get it done through an operator in Pantai Cenang. The price for para sailing at the beach within resort is MYR 100 per person. In Pantai cenang, they openly advertise MYR 50 for a 5 km round.
4) Swimming pool (Chlorine water & salt water) and Jacuzzi - very nice
5) House keeping - will enter your room even if you have not requested for room cleaning. So better keep all your costly items in safe provided.
6) Rooms: Not very clean and well planned. The bed is ok. There is no power point near the coffee/tea maker. Pickup the kettle and walk to some other power point in room to heat water.
7) They expect power cuts. You will get two candles in the dressing drawer and a matchbox. During my stay there were 3 power cuts. I woke up at around 5 AM and tried calling the"one stop service" number. But no response. Had to walk all the way to reception only to be told that the power is gone for all the rooms so I should go back and wait.
BAD BAD BAD
8) Bathroom: Very small. The pot is too close to the bathtub. Toothbrush is not provided unless you ask for it.
9) Garden: very nice. Lots of recycling. They also have eco tours at MYR 60 per person. Should make it free for hotel guests.
10) Breakfast: Too few options. If you are a vegetarian, stay happy with cereals or bread butter/ some fruits. Non vegetarians do not have a very good spread as well. I am non vegetarian so i had some options but my wife ( a vegan) didn't get much here.

Overall: Definitely not worth the price .... The rooms need more maintenance. The power cuts have to be managed. They can do better in breakfast.

Dear Aseem K,

Thank you for your kind comments on our resort. We are happy to know that you enjoyed our pool and beach view as well as our restaurant and check in services.

However we do apologize if our housekeeping cleaned the room without you asking. This usually happens if guests do not put out the do not clean my room sign at the door knob. Or the sign gets blown away during strong winds, which does happens sometimes. We recommend that guests keep their valuables in the safe provided in all our guest rooms as a precautionary measure. I shall also pass your other comments to our housekeeping.

Also, we are sorry that you were inconvenienced by the multiple power cuts in one day. They are a rare occurrence and beyond the resorts control. Rest is assured that we notify our guests in advance in the event that the local authorities do so too.
Thank you for your suggestion of making our eco walks free to our in-house guests but we already practice that. In-house guests are offered this complimentary educational program to learn about how our award winning resort reduces its impact on the environment and showcases practical applications that can be replicated even at home. We have won many awards for our educational program including the prestigious PATA Gold awards 2013 for best environmental education program and ASEAN Green hotel award 2012-14.

The bathrooms of our lead in category (deluxe rooms) are 47 sq. ft in size which is a regular sized bathroom. However, if you would like a bigger bathroom, you can upgrade to our garden, sea facing or beach villas which are 83 sq. ft, which includes our popular outdoor shower.

I will pass your suggestions on increasing our vegetarian breakfast spread to our Executive chef and FnB manager.

Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback on your stay with us.
We will use them to better our services in order for our guests to have an enjoyable beach retreat with us.

We spent 2 nights in the Frangipani Langkawi Resort and Spa hotel. Check in and check out is fast. The gardens are very well maintained and I found beautiful flowers all over the place. The beach is nice although I believe that the sand is imported from some where else. The breakfast is soso. Nothing extraordinary here. I ate toast every morning. The pool is nice. The rooms are ok but could be freashened up for the price. There is a fridge in the room and a safe. As for transportation on the island, beware its a cooperation meaning that the taxi prices are fixed! Don't loose you time negotiating, they all have the same price list! Taxi price from the airport to the hotel will cost 22 myr and it takes about 15 minutes. As you walk out of the hotel to the main street, just in front of you there's a small fruit and small grocery store. Cold drinks and sweet fruits are readily available. If you walk towards Pentai Chenang, (that is turning left as you exit the hotel on the main street) the walk is an easy 10 minutes and you will get to the action area. We found a nice place for cheep Draft Hineken beer 3 myr at the small mexican restaurant. Food was good. Just a few shops before the mexican restaurant, you can rent a scooter 135cc for 35 myr a day. Take a 135cc as anything smaller will be a challenge while touring the island. If you rent, grab a map and leave early in direction of the north to the cable cars. This is worth your stop. It will cost 60 myr for two adults (non resident) and the view is breath taking. Please note that the sky bridge was closed due to maintence on february 20 2014! Touring the island is about 120 km. It will take you a good 8 hours. The sceanary is just beautiful and I strongly suggest to tour the island. Driving here is safe just be careful and use common sense. We are now awaiting our boat to Koh Lipe from the Tagala Harbor. The taxi cost to the harbor is 30 myr.

This boutique hotel is on the quiet side of the best beach on the island and the best place to eat and drink watching the sunset in the evenings.
Hotel rooms are a little shabby but the beach villas and new rooms are fine. Need mosquito spray big time but they provided fly spray in the rooms which was a nice touch. 2 nice pools and we had enough sunbeds to not fight over them.
Nice music in the evening and you have to stay for the brilliant sunsets.
Easy 10min walk to town though with spas, bars and restaurants on the way. It was still hot and humid in the evening at 30 odd degrees and you miss the sea breeze when walking along the road.
A good beach for water sports, walking along and swimming, the northern side beach is busier and noisier but right in the town, this oneis tons nicer.
Good seafood place is the orchid asia just past underwater world. Biggest prawns Ive ever had.

The resort is well run, and we loved the focus on the environment.
Set right on the water, it's a pleasure to wake up to breakfast on the beach. The breakfast buffet was amazing, we looked forward to it every day, especially the omelette stand :)
The staff were lovely, and it felt very safe and secure.
We were hugely impressed with the New Years Eve party.
It's located walking distance from the main drag, the perfect location to not be effected by noise.
I will be returning and will recommend to anyone I hear that is visiting Langkawi.

Only 3 issues within this resort , the resort was a little pricey the check-in was very slow I had to wait to get my room , no internet in rooms (they could make it wired network if it's hard for WiFi since it's separated chalets) I had to buy a sim with internet pack in it also I lost my shoes in front of the beach haha .

I think they could review the bar pricing as it is a little steep, but beyond that, this is a lovely place - great piece of beach out front, nice pool, friendly staff. And the outdoor showers in the guest accommodation are great!
Loved our stay here!!
