The place is a dump.The pictures are all misleading.Very bad service from the staff.No smiles.Room not maintained and cleaned.Lots of bugs and inserts in the rooms.Nothing nearby to the hotel for a walk or to shop.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

the hotels are not being maintained as per its status of four points. elevator not working, room aircondition are set at 26 degree C, when asked, the chiller was not in full operation (I guess this is a cost savings initiatives), it is very warm and we dont used blanket, towels are torn and black in color. they dont have enough towels as they did re supply the fresh towels immediately during room clean and we have to wait till late evening to get towels.

The hotel was actually ok, the room was tidy. But my whole holiday for 2 nights was spoilt by the act of the staff.

1. During my checkin, i overheard the reception (malay dude) speaking over the phone with another and customer saying "i understand that customer is always right, but that depends on situation". Working in a service line you should never reply like this. I hope the hotel management will investigate the manners of the receptionist (6 june 2014 at 11am male malay guy).

2. At 10am the next day, (7 june), the room service came into the room but i wasnt prepared yet and ready to go out. So we asked to return and clean up the room later. At 11am, i called the front desk to send the room service over as i was about to go out and make up my room. When i return at 3pm the room was not done. So i called the frontdesk politely and request to send the room service again. The guy replied in the phone was giving reasons, and said "oh actually our room service they will have a list of rooms to cleaned up and we have to wait for our turn". Its already 3pm, and i called to remind them about this out for courtesy and he is just giving me reasons. And i said just send the room service over now, i dont need explanations or reasons.

3. During my checkout (8 june 10am) the same malay dude on duty. I request a proof of confirmation from the hotel maybe a printout copy that confirms my stay in langkawi for 2 nights so that i could exit the immgration counter with 2 litres of liquor. But he said no, because he says i booked through agoda so theres no printout for me. So unhelpful.

I hope the management will seriously take a look and train up their staff manners and behaviour during the arrival of their guest and also attending to them.

It would have been nice if they offered buffet breakfast like they did the first time they stayed there. Especially considering we were returning customers and it was my birthday. Instead they made us pay 50RM per person per day which was very pricey for Langkawi.

My friend and I stayed here in the first week of opening, we had a stunning balcony view facing the ocean. The rooms were large, the double beds luxurious, and the buffet delicious. The pool was stunning and looked out to the private beach. The beach was terrible.Highly recommended. When you book the room, dont book facing the carpark, ask for a room facing the ocean. All the guests were Muslim with Burkas, and we were the only two white australians. As long as you dont feel uncomfortable with unapproving looks when in shorts and bathers its not an issue. Only 5minutes walk from the airport, dont catch a taxi. Id stay again.

Room Tip: dont book facing the carpark.

We have stayed in this Hotel in our New Year vacations (Dec 2013) for 4 Days and I can tell you that it was the worst SPG Property I have stayed in. Being a SPG Gold Member, Sheraton Properties are always my preference but after staying in this Hotel, my confidence got shattered. The Hotel is extremely not worth staying.

The only good point of the Hotel is its proximity to the Airport

If talking about the negatives, the Hotel is very big but extremely ill maintained. The Rooms does not have any interiors and looks more like a big lodge room rather than the 4 Star Hotel. The 4 Star Hotel do not provide any Room Service. The beach-front is creepy any not recommended for swimming. The Buffet Breakfast is very expensive and does not have any variety. The Walls are plain white (Distemper) and have lots of seepage. The Bathroom amenities are extremely inadequate. The House Keeping do not change the Bed sheets and Towels until the guest request and calls the Front Desk 4 ~ 5 Times.

We have stayed in other SPG Properties in Kuala Lumpur and Penang but we got really disappointed staying in this Hotel in Langkawi and hope not to stay in the same Hotel again.

In case you do not want to ruin your holidays, please do not stay in this Hotel and look for any other good property when in Langkawi.There is also another Sheraton Property in Langkawi, so better choose that. I will not rate this Hotel even 1 Star.

Friends,
Please don't make your decisions looking at the pic showing personal beach after the swimming pool. Yes I agree beach is there, but you cannot step into the sand there and also not into water, its not maintained at all.
Secondly, no room service at all, I asked for the bottle opener, i was asked to come to the restaurant to get my bottle open.
Thirdly, I had to take my luggage to my room and then back to reception when i was leaving, ON MY OWN.
Paying so high price for it is waste.
Very far from the main chenang beach, its better to take the hotel there, you wont even get a water bottle or bread outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Put chenang beach as the filter for the hotel...thats the best place to stay.
