“Very good, bad quality wifi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Overall good value for money. Nice swimming pool right on the beach. Distant from other services so it's better if you move with your own or rented wheels. Spacious and modern rooms with all the amenities. Wifi quality is very bad and sometimes it's impossible to connect.

The hotel is very near the Airport, at a quiet beach, and still with its own swimming pool, The room very big, clean and comfortable, bathroom well equipped, and the service very good and staff very kind. Very idea hotel for couples. The only thing I not like is the uncomfortable quilt.

Room Tip: If ok try to get the room toward sea, but very few.

We did a short 2D1N trip & stayed at this hotel with my 23month boy. Since his hotel is in the Starwood chain so I really expect it will be better than those 3 star hotel. The times that we arrive was raining and we load our luggage with our own, no people at lobby to help. In between lobby to hotel room don't have roof, we need to get umbrella and when arrive our room, half body already wet.
The room is big enough but is dirty. A lot of dust around tv area and washroom especially below sink very dirty. Request cleaner to clean it and we give tips to them, each person RM10 and they thought we do know Malay and complain "kedekutnya, 10 ringgit sahaja" (so stingy, only RM10). I hold my emotion to scold people after hear it. We take a rest about 2 hour, after woke up from sleep we see a lot of ants around the room. The times is about buka Pausa times so we went out for dinner then just get the staff to do something for us. When told them about this, they claimed that we have sweet stuff at room so the ants coming. Even in anger, but I still hold my emotion and told them all the chocolate that we bought still in packaging and we didn't eat inside room. They didn't change room for me but asking me to wait at lobby and they just help to spray things only. Can u imagine that I bring a kid wait at lobby at 11pm and need to get rid of the smell, i still need to wait for another 30mins.
When check-in, we asked can we extend check out time to 1pm instead of 12pm. They ask us to called after 6pm to check see again coz afraid might have ppl booked our room already. And when at night we ask again, the staff told me that should be no problem coz no people booking and ask call again tomorrow morning. Then the next day asked again and the staff said cannot coz already got people booking. I feel I have been play fool by them.
Breakfast wise, the food are so so only. The fresh milk that it serve already spoil, end up we need to spend money eat at other place.
Definitely not recommend is place to my relatives and friends and would not stay there again.

A decent hotel, but I wouldn't rate it a 5 star hotel!
We had two electricity problems, the shower had uneven tiles, "Feast" restaurant was so-and-so (where you eat breakfast) beach wasn't especially good!

The hotel has a cabin feel, with spacious rooms and a nice tub, the "Captain's Grill" was nice with good food, the staff we're friendly and helpful!
The hotel is quite far away, but for a 120 ringgit you can get a cabbie to spin around the isle with you for 4 hours, getting a scooter is a good idea to reach places in general.
We enjoyed our stay but if I were to come again I'd pick another hotel!

The hotel is clean and modern but rather soulless. It also has an air of neglect. If the owners put some time and effort and money in to making it more inviting it would be a great hotel. The pool area could be amazing if the pool was actually clean and more shade provided for the loungers. Pool surround looks like an airport landing strip. The beach could be beautiful if kept clean - I realise this probably doesn't belong to the hotel, but it could be a huge draw card for guests. Also removing the eyesore of a disused shed type building next door would provide an amazing view of the mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant ranged from abysmal breakfasts to average a la carte menu. The distance from any shopping or other attractions makes it an expensive exercise in terms of taxi fares - perhaps the hotel should introduce a shuttle service to Cenang.

Frankly, I cannot believe this hotel is in the Starwood chain. It is really far below what you would expect especially in terms of service.

The room we stayed in was rather old and it didn't appear well maintained. What freaked us out were the stains on the bed :(. Some of the towels were also stained for some reason.

We were however impressed with the massive size of the pool - it had such potential (from a distance) until you get nearer to it. Shockingly green and moldy looking...you cannot see the bottom of the pool (4 ft, if I remember correctly).

We also saw several guests arguing loudly with a taxi driver right in front of the hotel lobby while the Four Points staff stood and stared. Am not too sure what caused the argument but the point is, they were making a scene right in front of the hotel. To be fair, we were exiting the hotel and thus, am not too sure how long the ruckus lasted or if the hotel staff intervened later.

I sincerely hope the hotel seeks to improve the service levels and general cleanliness.

Plus points: Size of the room (spacious), Disposable bedroom slippers & bathrobe provided.

It's a review for Four Points, so with no expectation for luxury stay, hence the title. It's not the Sheraton, let's face it. Staff were friendly (most of the time). Food was good if you choose the local dishes. Pool and beach: didn't use them as no one was using it or everyone went elsewhere. But it's only 5 mins to the airport, so is Cenang Beach. convenient enough. So recommend for people who are in a hurry or want to access the night market, etc. Price could be on the high side for what it's got but I had a good stay.

Room Tip: Ocean view is better but you are not gonna get too much value out of it for 200RM more per night. Yo...
