We stayed at The Rebak for 14 nights, we were concerned that being an island we would not have enough to do but that was far from the truth! We have never been made to feel so special, the staff are amazing, food great, beach gorgeous. The rooms are good but could do with a little updating ( I was told this was in the process of happening) The views are amazing and we didn't want to leave. For a romantic relaxing holiday Rebak is a must!
Its very well maintained property with friendly staff. If you are indian its best place to stay where you can get food indian food also.
Great stay, great food. Right from begining the speed boat transfer was very thrilling. Great Indian food available. Very friendly staff, very cooperative , very very sincere.Amazingly located in an island, the resort is one of the best i have stayed. Although the property is old and dated, but the location,food,staff makes it up for all.Net net great stay, very highly recommended.
Stayed here solo for 6 nights. Perfect destination for singles looking forward to unwind and rejuvinate from hectic work routine. I had a list of things to see and do at langkawi when i booked the hotel but as soon as I landed on the island I was stunned by the tranquil....serenity... and didnt want to take any effort to travel out of the island. Felt at home. Staff, service, food.. all excellent. I have travelled a lot but never came across a resort that makes you feel so much at home. I would credit the manner in which the staff functions. They are a family at work and not just professionals doing their job. The General Manager connects with all the guests at the resort to make sure they are happy with the stay, which makes you a part of the rebak family and less a guest. I was skeptical about the resort after reading adverse reviews about the rooms etc. but should say housekeeping is done twice. Rooms are sufficiently large with good balcony facing the sea. In any case the island is such that you will care less about the room once you reach. In room service is prompt. Food is delicious. Must try the 'Rebak Tiramisu'. I wasnt much of a foodie until i stayed at Rebak.Cost of food is at par or less compared to 5 stars in India. It is a safe location for single female travellers, I never felt uneasy. I couldnt sleep well first because it was too quite having gone from Mumbai but loved the silence soon enough. They have kayaks and bicycles available for free use. Wi fi is free. Thanks to Rebak for perfect holiday ever. This hotel is not just a Taj chain or a 5 star hotel. It has an individuality that will not go unnoticed once you stay. Hope to visit again.
I did take the mangrove tour. Its good to see the archipelago but would suggest a shorter tour than what the resort offers, which is 4 hours including food because its conducted by a private tour agency and the food is substandard for the price you pay. I had to pay 220 RM for single person. Also the actual tour would be less than 2 hours with lots of time being wasted on eating and docking the boat. Instead you could take individual tour from the jetty.
Made a trip recently with some friends who were travelling with infants. Couldn't have started off on a worse note, despite getting there right at the check-in time of 2PM were made to wait for 2 hours to get our rooms! The lady at the reception was downright rude, rather than sounding apologetic, it seemed as if she was doing us a favour! The rest of the service staff is helpful, but service is generally slow.
The rooms are decent and very large, but certainly you would come to expect better standards from Taj.
Food is decent but not great, though the Indian food is actually quite good.
The property is massive and beautiful, you can go biking or jogging along a trail along the coast. This is highly recommended.
Overall quite a mixed experience, I would certainly think twice before recommending this hotel to someone else. Go there for the novelty of being the only resort on the Island, certainly don't expect Taj standards.
Secluded property built on an separate island. Staff is efficient and very helping. Regular ferrys make you stay connected with the main land. Availablity of good Indian food in that part of Malaysia is a big plus.
Had gr8 time and would love to go back again.
