“Idyllic Place in the Andaman Sea.”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Though their service levels are not good, the location more than makes up for this. Imagine a room in such a hotel not having a "bottle opener". I asked for it on the 1st evening, I could not get this during my stay.

Rooms are ok-dokie, much like any 3* hotel. The rooms are not very Modern, yet very well laid out with all amenities to have a relaxing rest. Most rooms are beach front & this is very scenic which ever way you look at it.

Their Pasta, Pizza & Indian breads were top notch. However, the Indian breakfast menu on the buffet was a huge disappointment. None of the dishes were remotely close to the originals we eat in Singapore or Malaysia. This was a let down since its an Indian Hotel.

Could see some racism on a couple of occasions. Hotel should understand that if some one could afford this hotel, they can pretty much afford a competition on the main Island as well.

I liked the Gym, Cycling & the small library. Private Beach with a swimming pool near by is a pleasure. We got to see a Comodo Dragon as well, creature was free roaming. :)

Advice :
1. Carry mosquito repellents like body lotions etc.
2. Satellite TV is very grainy & Wifi is not strong in the rooms.
3. Your night life is more or less over by 6pm as the last boat from Lakasuka jetty on the main Island to Rebak is around 7pm. After that you will need to pay 200MYR to hire a private boat.

Room Tip: Ones near the main reception or sea facing superior with a sit out/balcony is great.

Recently stayed at Rebak for a week and thoroughly recommend it. If you are looking for a cheap Asian holiday and a bit of action, don't go there; but in saying that if you are looking for a good quality place that is very affordable as well as thoroughly relaxing then this is the place. Sure there are planes flying overhead, but they're not distracting. In fact every time I saw an Air Asia plane in the air it reinforced the fact that I was laying on the beach instead of flying with them.
The staff are what make this place. They are so attentive and go out of their way to make sure that your every need is being catered to. The food is excellent and whilst it may be dearer than some other places in Langkawi it is far from exorbitant. Happy hour is the piece de resistance. The Lepak bar from 6:00pm is the place to be. Great waiters making Great cocktails at cheap prices by the beach means you can't do anything but unwind.
Another thing of interest is that people who stay here are from such a diverse background so you don't get the Phuket or Bali effect of feeling like you are still in Australia, and the yachties from the marina also increase the variety of people you will meet.
If you are tired and jaded and want a relaxing break then you can't go past Rebak. My other recommendation would be not to use Air Asia to get there.

Room Tip: We had a 48 sq m sea view room but to indulge may be upgrade to a larger sea view room with separate...

We do not experience most of the things what the reviewer has mentioned in here.
We taken 4 rooms and total of 12 pax (including adult, infant and young kids).

We found out the foreign workers are more friendly, attentive and given their best service to us, even they don't speak very well English. However the local staff are not that friendly instead we always found there's no smile on their face at all...My mum said "black face"

We spend our evening at the pool and beach around 4pm to 6pm for two days, there is a beautiful pool bar, but there is no one on duty, v are not sure it's call on request or just for decoration so far no chance of using the pool bar service.

The Hotel rooms are clean and spacious, however not sure of what reason, my rooms didn't get the night turn down but others three room they got it!

For our last night, we intend to have dinner at the hotel instead of going out to the mainland, however by looking at the food (buffet style), the choices is not much with that kind of price (RM110++) offered, which we think is a bit pricy and there is the only one dining restaurant. So we decided to went out, we called up and informed the Reception and arrange for a boat ride, obviously we need to pay for it.

4 person from the Resort reminded us again and again that we need to pay !! I think we are not that old until need to be reminded for 4 times within 30mins!! beside, they didn't ask us for any payment on the spot or sign anything.....

Its go like this :

1st Time : Informed Reception and told is chargeable of RM160 for special arrange, we agreed and ask them to bill to the room.

2nd Time: when at the Resort Jetty, the skipper remind us again, we also said we agreed but nothing was given to us to sign or no money collect from us.

3rd Times: When arrived at the Langkasuka Jetty, another bellboy "hold" us and pick up the phone call back to the resort and ask us to speak to the Reception again...so it was reminded again we need to pay......I am kind of annoy but still stay calm and tell her OK, we acknowledged!! Nothing was given us to sign or no money was collected from us as well.

4th Time, when I about to get into our transport, stop by another bellboy again, REMINDED again, we need to pay!!!!

We fell that, we treated like someone will easily run away without paying and no respect at all, if we can book 4 rooms x 2 night total : 8nights, what is this RM160 to us???
Really don't under stand!

From the website even at the reception we was told FREE wifi, we are not able to connect so we call up and they told us the Wifi is down (until we check ou its still down) but if we need to use the internet, we can come to the library which hotel will charge RM5.00 per 30mins....?????? Free Wifi!!!

The breakfast was Good, with wide selection at the price of RM44nett, which we are happy with that, however when my mum found some hair on her noodle, she informed the restaurant staff (local pregnant lady) but my mum wasn't demanding anything but just a feedback, she replied to my mum that she will change another plate for her (from the same buffer counter!) which my mum told her its was OK as she will go for others food, no apologised from her and she just walk off...after 10mins the chief (foreign country) came out and apologised to my mum....the reason from the Chief is all his staff is short hair, so the hair my mum found is a long hair so it could be belong to the hotel guest!!! we are SPEECHLESS!

We have been travel to many countries and this is the worst 5* resort I ever stayed before, but for sure it will be the last and I will not consider to return or recommend to my friend!

Room Tip: Majority the room are spacious and clean, my sister stay at 01 bedroom villa which come with a livin...

A wonderful experience. Stayed five days with my family members enjoyed a lot and also good food. But though Indian food is provided, South Indian food is not upto the mark. Little bit improvement in taste is required. Otherwise everything is great and lovely. One must stay here. Specially to mention Mr Deslva, who is a forest guide, who brilliantly explained flora and fauna.

My husband and my parents spent five nights on Rebak Island to relax before travelling to Singapore. We are so happy we chose the hotel - our entire stay felt like a dream.

The hotel itself is beautifully landscaped and set on a private island just off the mainland and is only accessible by boat. It is a short walk from the private marina to the hotel but staff are always eager to give you a lift in a golf cart. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife - lots of hornbills, monitor lizards and we even saw a baby alligator in a storm drain. Rooms are large and luxurious with a spacious balcony, bathroom has shower, bath, his and her's sinks and large wardrobes. We had a gorgeous view looking over to the mainland which was a dream to wake up to. We were given free bottles of water in our room every day so never went thirsty, and the rooms were kept spotless.

You can catch a boat every half an hour or so over to the mainland so it's easy to explore the mainland of Langkawi, which we did several times. Wait until the last boat back and you'll get treated to the breathtaking sunset.

The pool area is gorgeous and has a swim up bar (many cocktails and sticks of satay were had!), and was never terribly busy. The beach is also gorgeous, and staff are always about for a drinks service.

The restaurant has both an excellent a la carte menu and a buffet, both of which were very reasonably priced. The food was fabulous, with a selection of Asian and Oriental treats as well, and not too many Western items (which we enjoyed, why travel all the way to Malaysia to eat a fry up?!). Try the satay and the laksa - you won't be disappointed!

The staff absolutely make the hotel. Everyone was cheerful and friendly and would always wish you a good morning if they passed you. They absolutely bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect and we were treated like royalty. I cannot fault them.

The whole stay was very reasonable, we were shocked that our final bill did not total more considering it included all our dinners, drinks and snacks.

Thank you so much to the staff for a truly incredible stay - should funds suffice, we will be back!

Spent 4 nights at Rebak Island for a "chill" and duty free experience. As we flew from Maldives to Malaysia it was refreshing price experience, we were paying in Maldives $30 for wine and $5 for beer, on the main Island (bit dearer at Rebak) we could buy spirits for $8 a bottle and beer was 70c from supermarket. Island was a ferry boat ride to shopping (via cheap taxi) China town in Kuah was 30% cheaper than Airport for good malt whisky, etc. They also like to haggle. Food and drink were good at resort, happy hour (actually 2 hrs) were well patronised, pool was great. Only regret was we had flown from Maldives and can not compare to Langkawi (beach wise) though it was ok. Mossies were dreadful and we were always topping up repellant, probably the only complaint. Rooms were spacious with water views and Room service was great (I think he was Aysol) nothing was a problem, all staff were happy, attentive and friendly.

Room Tip: There are nature walks and there is a "special" route to Red Beach which is through the &q...
