located at the end of the strip in Cenang, the padi is a large, well, rice paddy!. It has a museum which is actually quite interesting about the history of rice and its cultivation. We then walked across the grounds and the paddy. Its quite pretty there and quiet and relaxing. we had a nice quiet morning slowly walking around. Its surprising the amount of wildlife the grass sustains!
Worth a look if your in Cenang/Tengah

Always a great welcome and great food. Now located on road to petrol station about 0.75km away. It's still worth the taxi ride.

That was absolutely excelent. Everything is free. No payments. When the man there saw us, he started to explain us everythink - many informations about rice, buffalos, herbs.... he was really gentleman- very kind and smart... at the end of exploring we gave him some money as tips - only one way how to say "thank you very very much" :)))))

We weren't sure if this would be worthwhile, but saw some reviews which said it was really interesting if you get a guide. I must agree with this. For the first several minutes by ourselves, we weren't terribly engaged. However, as soon as we found a guide, we were shown around and taught about local herbs, the methods of rice farming, saw albino water buffaloes, tasted some fruit from the trees and finally had a quick visit to the museum. It was well worth the hour and a half we spent there. And it is completely free. I would particularly recommend it to families with school-aged children, and to anyone who has a little bit of time free while in the area.
