Langkawi Lagoon Resort
Ranked #74 of 105 Hotels in Langkawi
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Stayed here for a few nights with a group of friends, we had a great time, staff was very helpful, the hotel itself is very well put together and the location is as good as any to access the various attractions of Langkawi as well as the beach. We particularly enjoyed the bar in the pool (having cocktails sat on a stool in the water is priceless). The beach is great, right in front of the hotel, private and clean.
Would definitely recommend it.

We went there after our marriage. we stayed there for 3N4D in Dec 2009. It was a peaceful stay. Inspite of advance booking we had to wait in the lobby fir about hour an half for check in as the rooms were not ready. When we checked in the room, we were surprised to see against what were we promised. We were promised hill view room, but the room which they allotted to us was not hill view. Room was small. Pool is small compared to the hotel size, but we enjoyed :).
The breakfast was amazing. Lots and lots of options for vegetarians. For my wife it was very nice as this was her 1st tour abroad. Overall for me it was an average stay

Room Tip: Pool side rooms should be preferred.

My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights at Langkawi Lagoon. Since we had no idea where to stay, our agent chose and booked for us.
The overall impression is good: nice facility, clear sea view, quiet location, add ontop of these the sunny weather and a few palm trees, you have the ideal environment for some quality time.
The pool is nice and not too crowded, breakfast is decent and there is a private beach (more on this one later).

However, when you look into the details, they have a lot of room for improvement. Especially in terms of service.
One night we came down to the lobby and wanted to have one of the staff book a spa for us. The guy grabbed a booklet, showed us a number in the back and asked us to call ourselves - this already pissed me off. Then I asked him until what time the spa is open; his answer was "maybe you could call and ask them". What the hell. Are you guys working in hospitality? Isn't this YOUR spa? Another morning, we asked for an outdoor table for breakfast (I spotted one that only needed to be cleaned up). The waitress looked around (saw it) and asked us to seat inside - not the kind of service and response I expect from a hotel that is supposed to make your stay easier and enjoyable.
Also, you can't make a calls out of the hotel directly from your room; you actually need to go down to the lobby and call the operator who connect you through. Which is not so convenient, especially if you need to work, or simply stay comfy in your room.
The private beach is actually a good idea and not crowded at all. We quickly found out why: the sand is hard and the water is not so clear / clean. And honestly, there are plenty of nicer areas for a swim and a tan.
Later one, our jet-ski guide told us Langkawi Lagoon is one of the poorest hotel in the region. I need to talk to my agent about this one!

Our main intention to go to Langkawi is just for relaxation and enjoy the beauty of nature. Since my mum and I are so into water chalest, we booked the resort for a 3D2N stay - 2 Studio Suite rooms. It was really beyond our expectations. We were welcomed by refreshing fruit juices. Since we went during non peak season, we enjoyed the calm and relaxed environment.
+ points: The location is just great, in fact, you won't get lost in Langkawi. Best to rent car/bike as it is so easy to get to anywhere u like. The staff is so polite. Just ask when you are in doubt. The resorts are clean. Those who love fishing (like my husband and dad), you can rent the rods and fish from your balcony.
- points: Their breakfast was simple - not much variety. Apart from the tours packages, not much activities at the resort. Their in house meals are quite expensive, I thought.
Overall, it was a great experience! Will come again for sure.

My husband & me went to Langkawi for our 1st honeymoon. We booked Studio Suite at Langkawi Lagoon for 1 night before move to Awana Porto Malai for next 3days. Our arrivals are welcomed with fresh juice & that's so great since the weather are so hot. We wait quite long before the buggy send us to our water chalet. Arrived to our chalet, we found out that we didnt get seaview chalet. I called the management & they said that their chalet is fully booked. Luckily we only book for 1 night since our room is facing noisy construction :( Really not worth it for RM1k/nite. They also have their private beach & in house spa. The food is quite delicious & the location is actually in the middle of everywhere.

Room Tip: Make sure you really get seaview room

We stayed there for two days and i must say the property is very nice and relaxing. But if you are looking for a relaxing place alone then Langkawi Lagoon Resort is not a bad choice. But if you want some service to go along with a good environment then this is definitely not the place.
All their staffs (except one gentleman at recreation center) are always in stress and never smile. The worst thing is they look so scary that we are so scared to even approach them for fear that they may embarrass you in public.
Breakfast staff is so pathetic and never even smile let alone wish.
We went down to reception to ask for newspaper in the room and she said we can read at the lobby. After some persuasion finally she agreed to sent one to the room, but after waiting for 2 hours nobody came. bad bad attitude. I went there to relax but came back stressed instead.
all in all good property with worst staff attitude.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view will be good
